Excellent cultural perspectives - We had a great experience with Riwai. His passionate storytelling about Christchurch and the various cultural significances sprinkled throughout the city were invaluable. We appreciated the openness exhibited throughout our tour and pointers to local cafes and restaurents. It never felt like a tour and we enjoyed learning a lot about the assimilation of local native culture in mainstream society.

A wonderful tour with an enthusiastic guide - I loved learning how Christchurch is re-building after listening to all voices concerned. Riwai pointed out all of the included artwork, celebrating Maori and English culture added to the city and provided an excellent lunch.

More than a history lesson - We appreciated the personalised tour that Riwai offered us, the way he sought to make connections with us and the storytelling that fleshed out the places we visited. The walking was easy, relaxed, and it was lovely to have the experience of people in the street greeting our guide. Made it feel like a real local was sharing his place with us. This was a great tour to start our visit to Christchurch. Everything we did after that built on it so thanks for that great foundation!

Great experience! - An amazing experience learning more about Maori culture and the cooperative re-building of a city after such the earthquake catastrophe. I also appreciated that my vegetarian diet choice was respected at a truly lovely lunch.

Best of Christchurch by foot - Our guide was so enthusiastic about his city, the people, history & the New Zealand people culture. He went out of his way to assist us to purchase All Black apparel for our grandchildren ( we are Aussie’s) Best way to see Christchurch on foot as there are so many hidden treasures that only a true local can show you. Great tour, we throughly recommend it

24 hours in Christchurch? No Problem! - This walking tour of the quaint downtown area is so charming, my only regret was not spending more time here! Mr. Riwai is kind, informative, knowledgeable and well-traveled. He was easy to converse with and gave me a great overview of his lovely city's cultural history while introducing me to some fantastic cuisine and local craft beer! I can't recommend this walking tour enough, especially if you're short on time. 100% WORTH IT!

Fantastic tour with an exceptional guide - Excellent tour by Riwai. Really knowledgeable about Christchurch, both its early development and its post-earthquake recovery. Great choice of venues for food and drink stops along the route. Highly recommended.

Don’t think, just do. - A tour that I would happily do again, and again and again. Riwai was so captivating, an amazing story teller and all around fantastic guide. I learnt more about Ōtautahi (Christchurch) in this tour than I have the entire time I’ve been here! I cannot recommend this tour enough. Him and his whānau share so much of themselves as well as their surroundings. Leaves you wanting more, and very cup filling. If you are from out of town or were born and raised here, or even somewhere in between, book yourself in. You won’t be disappointed 🧡

Do this! - This was a highlight of my visit. I saw lots and learned so much. For walkers who aren’t avid sporty people this was fine. Thanks Ash. You were fantastic.
