- Otira Viaduct Lookout - Then drive down to Otira Viaduct which provide impressive views of red flowering rata in summer months & grab the opportunity to spot the inquisitive Kea (alpine parrot) well known for its cheeky nature.
- Devils Punchbowl Walking Track - Your guide will then recommend you some popular walks in the National Park with incredible views.
- Arthur’s Pass National Park Visitor Centre - After your walk enjoy 1 hours free time for lunch at a local cafe & explore the village of Arthur’s Pass.
- Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area - On your return journey, travel by road in a luxurious minivan with a few scenic stops on the way. Take a coffee break & capture stunning mirror images at Lake Person. Then wander through majestic presence of limestone rock formations at Castle Hill Conservation Area. Stretch your legs one last time at Lake Lyndon that regularly freezes in winter months. Return back & drop-off to your location in Christchurch.

Absolutely amazing day trip - The train ride was amazing and then to come back by shuttle was great we got to see different sights by train and then by road
The shuttle bus driver was the best very accomodating very knowledgeable nothing was a problem

Fantastic! - This was a fantastic tour. The train traveled through many scenic areas. Our tour guide stopped at numerous scenic places for us to take pictures. Castle Hill was very cool.

Great tour for solo traveler - Good valued tour. I got picked up at the hotel then went on the Tranz Alpine train and experienced hours of bliss: magnificent scenery (mountain high, valley deep, green farm land with the cute sheep, lamb, cow ...). Then our tour guide Anuj picked us up again at Arthur Pass Train station and took us to a little restful town for lunch, the foods are beautiful too, encountered with the cheeky Kea. Many stops along the way with dramatic landscape and Anuj commentary to help us appreciate the places even more. Anuj is a master of organisation, he had everything arranged for us to enjoy things along the way just like we would have done in a private car trip. He looks after every individual on tour. Highly recommended.
One personal note, the open carriage on the Tranz Alpine train is not worth it in my opinion, it is too windy and fast moving for decent photography, I witnessed and encountered some examples of worst humanity that I can't unsee. This do spoil my perfect train trip, a little.

Entertaining. Instructive. Enjoyable. - The guide Anup was most helpful and generous with his chocolates. Gave everyone ample time to enjoy the activities. Most accurate with his estimate of travel times - important for us sitting at the back of the bus.

Big day out. - What a great day out. The train trip was awesome but even better was the chance to get off the bus and experience some of the natural wonders such as the Devils Punchbowl Track and Castle Hill. Anuj was passionate about providing us a great experience and even provided water and snacks. His knowledge and commentary was incredible.

We were well taken care of - The tour was absolutely fantastic in itself, with a well planned itinerary and magnificent views.
But what really made the tour amazing was our guide, Anuj, who was extremely considerate and helpful.
From ensuring we had water bottles and snacks after trekking, to providing detailed commentary and helpful tips for the treks, to helping me find a Kea, he was always went above and beyond in ensuring our comfort!
Even when the weather turned rainier and windier than we expected, he was well prepared with umbrellas and ponchos! Just amazing.

Perfect experience for a daytrip from ChristChurch - Everything was perfection! We love Anuj and would spend another day with him if there were more trips. He picked us up on time, was so caring and thoughtful, made sure we were comfortable, happy, and had a great experience.
