Get to know animals in nature - It is in the forest and you can see the animals alive in nature.
While looking at the map placed at the entrance, navigate in the viewing order to understand where and which animals are.
I went in as soon as it opened, so I realized that the reason all the animals were coming up to me was because they were waiting for food from other people, which was especially disappointing for ducks all over the aisle. I noticed you were getting food from other customers, but purchased food at the entrance? You might enjoy it if you do. You don't have to feed them, though.
It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to get around. It seems to take a lot of time to feed and touch each other.
The corridors, gates and animal enclosures are also delicately crafted to give you a sense of taste, and I am glad I came.

Fun experience at Willowbank - This part was amazing, we really enjoyed our visit here. Our 4 year old loved feeding the eels, ducks and chickens.
We also really enjoyed looking at the old farm equipment. We could tell they put a lot of effort into making this wonderful park

Best attraction in Christchurch - Amazing and fun day out. Best part is being able to feed the animals. Both bird and deer/farm animal food can be purchased in bags at the front desk

A duck at every turn - This has got to be one of the best reserves I have been too.
I like how the pathway is set to a particular direction, means you get to see everything.
It was well laid out with natural breaks and surprises around each corner.
I was impressed with the variety of animals they had especially the amount of capybaras.
There are plenty of spots to stop and take a break and the vast majority of the reserve is sheltered from the sun.
Managed to see a kiwi in its enclosure too.
I really enjoyed my time there we spent just over 2.5hrs on site.
Would be 5 stars if they could focus on some maintenance and tidy up.
Well worth the money and will definitely be back.
I titled this, a duck at every turn because there is, every where you look there is a duck somewhere chilling out, so cool.

Cute, but a zoo - Cute place for kids to see and feed animals. It's mostly a zoo with birds and farm animals from all over the world. Only about 1/3 was native to New Zealand. They did have a few live Kiwis. If you are in ChristChurch and this is your one chance to see native birds, or you want to entertain kids, its worthwhile.

Duck Lovers Paradise - We took our nearly 20 month old grandson. He loves ducks so it was a big hit with him and he enjoyed running around the tracks. We liked the wallaby enclosure. As adults, I have to say it looks a bit shabby and in need of a bit of a tidy-up. We're not keen on animals in smallish cages so found that a bit off-putting - one of the gibbons looked positively depressed sitting in a corner with his hands over his head. The staff at reception were lovely but our overall final opinion is that at over $70 for 2 adults (pre-schooler free) we don't think its good value. We'll probably just visit the duck pond at the Gardens next time.
