Amazing Place for Travel, Trekking & stay - North Sikkim is a paradise for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those looking to experience a different side of Sikkimese culture. Its raw natural beauty, serene ambiance, and remote charm make it an unforgettable destination for those willing to venture off the beaten path and explore one of India's most enchanting regions. Just be prepared for the challenges of high-altitude travel and the road conditions that come with it.

Information they forgot to mention in the fine print - Read the description. Look at the photos. Incredible, right? Who wouldn't want to take this trip? So here are some things I learned at the absolute last minute: Gangtok is about a 3-6 hour drive from the nearest big airport. You'll need to reserve a driver on your first day and last day. Apparently it's rainy season in Sikkim right now, which is causing all kinds of mayhem - floods, landslides, etc. It's bad enough that most drivers won't go out after dark, meaning it's likely to take two days to get to Gangtok and two days back. I found all of this out when I reserved my first driver. The organization asked me if I had a permit to enter Sikkim. I had to go find a Sikkim tourist office in Delhi and get an official permit to even enter Sikkim. The agent then told me that there are multiple parts of Sikkim that are either inaccessible due to weather or completely off limits to foreign tourists altogether. I knew NONE of this from the tour company. If I had made the two-day trip to Gangtok, I'd have had to cancel my tour without a refund, then been stuck there without plans for three days. What horrible communication! I'm sure if you're Indian, it's the trip of a lifetime. But if you hold any other passport, skip this one and look for something different. Personally I went to Kashmir instead and it was incredible.
