Wonderful bird watching experience - We got Claudio as our guide. He was extremely experience and was able to point out all the birds accurately. We managed to see fifty plus birds in total, Fox, moles and many others wildlife around Sian Ka’an area. Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed it and will highly recommend bird watchers to join this tour

Great birding! - Squirrel Cuckoo, the two Mot-mots, Ocellated Turkey and the collared Aracari were our mega-twitches of the day!! José Paz is one of the best birding guides with whom we've had the pleasure finding new birds !!

Great Birding with Amar Aves - Our two-couple party had a fantastic time birding with Miguel. We started on the quiet streets of Muyil, where morning birds included Collared Aracari, Keel-billed Toucan, Black-headed Trogon, Turquoise-browed Motmot, Ferruginous Pygmy Owl, and a variety of orioles (among many others). After a local lunch, we headed onto the trails of the nearby Muyil Maya site, which was full of beautiful northbound warblers more familiar to us from the summer woods of the US. So cool to see them on their journey. We also opted into the boat and float, which was amazing (we found the Gray-crowned Yellowthroat on the hike back). We had so much fun that two of us signed up for a trip in the Toh area near Puerto Morelos two days later!

Bird tour and culture - I went with Miguel to Coba and Muyil this week. Despite me doing my homework and having knowledge of some species, Miguel’s expertise and knowledge of bird calls was superb and helped me find numerous sought after species. He was also considerate towards my family’s needs and explained cultural and historical aspects of the tour. He went above board to ensure my 5 year old was entertained and saw as much as possible. Highly recommended.

Fantastic multi-day birdwatching tour with Amar Aves! - My husband and I just completed a six-day birdwatching tour with Miguel Amar Uribe from Amar Aves in the Yucatan. Together, with the help of the fantastic local guides at each site we visited, we saw over 200 species during the trip! Given that we had birded the Yucatan in the past, Miguel was instrumental in helping us find and see some target species that we had not yet seen. Miguel is fluent in the calls of the birds in the region and was able to guide us to the best locations to see all the Yucatan's specialties. An especially wonderful part of the trip was meeting the local birding guides and their families that live in the communities where we birded. We would highly recommend this multi-day birdwatching tour for anyone that is interested in the seeing the beautiful avifauna of the Yucatan region.

More Orioles than an Os Game in Baltimore - We saw so many birds! And Miguel logged them all into eBird so that we had a nice list at the end of the day. This tour was the best!

So Many Birds! - This tour was the highlight of a really great trip to Tulum. Miguel was an excellent bird spotter and helped us to see over 70 species in a few short hours. Plus he logged them all in eBird so that we had a record of our sightings and could focus on watching the birds. Miguel was also a lovely host and great conversationalist. I hope to get back to Tulum some day to do this again!

A family birding tour to remember - We brought our two children (ages 7 and 10) on this tour. And added the optional float down the river. Our kids are primed for being taken on these types of nature trips, having been camping, hiking, and nature viewing previously; but our tour guide (Miguel), also adapted our trip to accommodate our pace (a more leisurely speed than intense birders would want - though I think he can accommodate both types of groups), and had packed extra juice and snacks - which came in handy for the kids. Miguel was able to make the tour enjoyable for all of us. Most of the tour had shady spots you could stand in between the village and forested path at the start of the trip - which was valued by our family as we had quite a few sim days previously. Miguel is a skilled tour guide, with plenty of knowledge of the birds we heard and saw (plus knowledgeable about Mayan history - which was a bonus when we passed through the archaeological zone). We were able to borrow binoculars, and he also brought a scope and camera, which was great for helping us view species even better with the entire family. We saw over 40 different species (highlights including toucans, motmots, and a colllared forest falcon). He called out a Pygmy owl - which was also memorable. We wouldn’t have observed a fraction of the species on our own. I was surprised how many of the species we found just in the small village at the start of our trip. Miguel is perfectly bilingual in both Spanish and English and made the entire experience smooth - from arranging the boats and entry fees, to ordering lunch (we are all vegetarian - and he was able to accommodate easily) from a local restaurant. The float down the lazy river was a nice way end our tour, and to cool off. Most of the birds we saw was within the town, archeological zone, and the path next to the archeological zone. I’d suggest the float is optional. We did however see a few new birds on the boat ride (and Miguel was able to point out a boat billed heron lurking in the mangrove swamp to my daughter). The float was also a good incentive for our kids after a morning of birding.

An outstanding birding tour- not to be missed!! - This was an extraordinary birdwatching tour in every respect. Our guide, Miguel Amar, is exceptionally knowledgeable and skillful as a bird guide, and was also a very enjoyable companion over the course of a very full, well-planned excursion. We saw a total of 75 species of birds (not counting 10 that were only heard), including numerous species endemic to the region. Birding highlights included a keel-billed toucan, collared aracari, turquoise-browed motmot and black-headed trogon, along with different species of woodcreeper, tanager, and oriole, both white-fronted and yellow-lored parrots. We also very much enjoyed visiting the Muyil ruins, and the very memorable river float in Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. This was my best day of birdwatching with a professional guide in over 15 years of birding. The other person in our group was not so dedicated a birder as I am, but nonetheless had a very enjoyable excursion as well, thanks to Miguel's thoughtful attention to our individual interests and needs.
