Amazing personalized experience! - We had such a wonderful time with Oku, right from the start he was so welcoming, friendly and helpful! It was just the two of us that morning and we started with some history of Japan, seeing the theater and learning about the kabuki. It was a cold day so he even gave us little hand warmers to keep warm since much of the tour is outside (dress warm and wear comfortable shoes!) Oku showed us to so many gems of the fish market, covering the spectrum from strawberries to tamagoyaki to soybeans to matcha to dashi, kobe beef and tuna and more! We got to see behind the scenes action for so many spots, like where and how the tamagoyaki is made and some gigantic frozen tunas. All throughout Oku weaved in historical and current cultural information about Japan and was always hilarious, helpful and easy to understand. He even has explanatory photos, maps, and even models to help demonstrate. We tried everything in small, digestible quantities (would advise don’t come starving but come ready to taste). If you need coffee or more food along the way Oku will certainly oblige. He has friends everywhere in the market which makes visiting every stall so pleasant and easy! At the end we were able to see a shrine and learn about more Japanese culture before all having delicious sashimi and sake together. Overall we had such a lovely, unhurried time, learned so much and laughed so much. What a treasure of a tour! Thank you Oku!

Fun tour through Tsukiji market - Oku was our guide and he was so sweet! He took us to multiple places run by shopkeepers he knows, and clearly made an effort to explain the history behind the food and Tsukiji market. We saw a knife maker, a matcha producer, got to try tuna belly, and warmed up with dashi. Oku was so well prepared and thoughtful. Would recommend this tour!!

A Very Personal Tour - Mr. Oku was a very knowledgeable, kind, and patient guide. I can't imagine a better afternoon for a visitor to Tokyo than visiting the many sights and shops that Mr. Oku has developed relationships with. Everywhere we went we found a smile and an open heart. Don't miss out on this special opportunity to visit traditional artists, bakers, specialty, and craft shops. Mr. Oku even makes a special effort to tailor the tour to his guests' specific interests. Thank you!!
