Highlights
  • Tsukiji Fish Market - Tsukiji Outer Market is Japan’s “Food Town,” where one can encounter all kinds of traditional Japanese foods. A mixture of wholesale and retail shops, along with numerous restaurants, line the streets, and new culinary trends.

  • Senso-ji Temple - Along with being mostly visited temple of Japan with over 20 million of visitors, this ancient 1400 years old buddhist temple is an iconic symbol of Tokyo.

  • Imperial Palace - The Imperial Palace has served as the residential place of the successive Emperors since 1868. It contains the Imperial Residence and the Imperial Palace Complex.

  • Tokyo Skytree - Tokyo Skytree is the highest freestanding tower in the world with 634 meters height. Offering you spectacular views out over Tokyo, there are two enclosed decks located at heights of 350 and 450 meters respectively, making them the highest observation decks in Japan.

  • Tokyo Tower - A symbol of post war recovery in the center of the city. Built in 1958, and standing 333 meters tall, Tokyo Tower serves as a symbol of Tokyo’s rebirth after World War II. At the time of its completion, it was the tallest tower in the world, surpassing even its inspiration, the Eiffel Tower.

  • Ginza - Ginza is a fancy, upmarket shopping district and it won’t let you forget it. You’re far more likely to find internationally-recognized luxury brand clothes and accessories here than a charming Mom-and-Pop shop or hip independent coffee store. Originally, it was part of the downtown area of Edo (olden days Tokyo), and still has a bit of that old school charm. But the area was always somewhat posh. It was named after a silver mint that used to be there after all.

  • Takeshita Street - The 350-meter Takeshita-dori Street is the hub for Japanese pop culture and also known for wacky, youth-driven shops selling colorful and crazy clothes and accessories. It’s also a paradise for sweets-lovers - don’t miss the fluffy, sugary crepes. There are also several boutiques that specialize in edgy grunge and goth fashion.

  • Meiji Jingu Shrine - Located in the heart of Tokyo in a wooded area of over 100,000 trees, Meiji-Jingu is one of Japan’s most famous shrines and is dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. The atmosphere inside the shrine is very peaceful and spiritual.

  • Odaiba District - A man made island located in Tokyo Bay, Odaiba is a district with excellent shopping and amusement facilities that also boasts beautiful parks and a charming coastline. However, as it is roughly 40 minutes drive from the last destination, the driver will take you there if only left enough time.

  • Shibuya Crossing - Shibuya Crossing is the busiest intersection in the world. It is famous for its crowded and colorful district, packed to the gills with shops, restaurants, clubs and avid shoppers.

  • Omotesando - Omotesando is known as one of leading cafe areas in Tokyo. Omotesando is very famous that even became the first place to open the shop in Japan when overseas coffee chains consider tapping on Japanese market. It is also the place you will encounter the latest trend of Japan. there you will find peculiar merchandise which will never be found in other areas. There should be plenty of Japanese subculture clothing and goods that are also attracting foreign visitors.

Saw all the highlights of Tokyo in a day! - Kibo was an excellent guide and we very much appreciated having his expertise in showing us the amazing sites in Tokyo! Our schedule was a little rushed because we had a train to catch and he still managed to show us what we most wanted to see and we never felt rushed! He even assisted us to get to the correct train line which we were stressed about. He took us exactly where we needed to go and I’m sure we would not have been able to sort it out without him!! He was able to give us many facts and history along the way and had knowledge about every area we visited. We would highly recommend Kibo as a guide when booking a trip to Tokyo!

An unforgettable day in Tokyo! - Uta (Utah) was our driver and guide for a day in Tokyo. He knew the ins-and-outs of the city like the back of his hand, and his personal stories were second-to-none! We spent 6 hours with him, but it felt like we had been good friends for 6 years! Highly recommend booking with this company and requesting Uta if you want to explore Tokyo with a friendly and knowledgeable guide (and great driver)! Thank you Glocal Japan for this wonderful experience!

An Amazing Day! - We had an amazing day and visited an array of places we would not have been able to see if we had attempted to organize it on our own (considering the language barrier and limited understanding of the culture). The highlight however was our guide, Bob. He immediately put us at ease and charmed us with his stories, insights about the Japanese culture and information on the places we visited. I loved that we had a flexible itinerary that we were able to customize it to fit our needs. I will definitely go this route in the future. Thank you Bob for an incredible day!

Wonderful tour of Tokyo in a Day - 9 hours is still not enough! You only get a small taste of Tokyo. But for what we got, the experience was amazing. Our driver, Miro, was on time, knowledgeable, and personable. He drove us safely through most of the hot spots in Tokyo. He gave a bit of information on each spot and offered suggestions to make the most out of the tour. Our favorite spots were the Meiji Jingu Shrine and the Skytree (Do both levels). If you’re on the fence about this tour, I wouldn’t hesitate. This was easily one of the best parts of our time in Tokyo.
