Join our morning tour of the historic neighborhood market in Tsukiji. You have probably heard that the wholesale fish vendors have moved — But this part of town is still one of the best food areas in all of Tokyo, home to delicious restaurants and market shops, some dating back over 100 years or more! Taste specialties from the area; things you simply cannot find anywhere else. We know all the hidden gems and will make sure you have a chance to taste the many flavors that make up the heart and soul of Japanese cuisine.
Visit the 65 specialty vendors who decided NOT to move to Toyosu at the wholesale building. They have remained in Tsukiji in a custom-made facility great for workers and visitors alike. We can often see the whole Tuna being prepared for selling. We will try fresh sashimi, and see the best of what is in season this time of year. Join a tasting session where we try new and unique food every time we tour! You will not find this on any other Tsukiji tour!

Hidden Gems and More! - My husband and I took this tour and it's amazing! Even though we've been to Tsukiji Market before, we never really knew about the hidden gems that our guide, Josh (hope I'm correct) took us to, like the hole-in-the-wall mother & daughter breakfast place where we got to savour freshly grilled saba and hoke (traditional Japanese breakfast). Josh was really knowledgeable. He took the time to explain how different vegetables were pickled, and also explained the transformation the Tsukiji area went through over the years. Most of all, our great guide even bought and grated fresh wasabi for us to enjoy with the deliciously fresh sashimi picnic that he put together! Highly recommend this tour!

Must-do Tokyo activity - Lucas was an excellent tour guide and we would rate him 6 stars if we could. We felt like locals exploring and eating in Tsukiji. He was knowledgable about the history and culture of the market, food, and answered all of our questions. Our 4 hour breakfast tour was part of a 2 week trip around Japan and it is one of our top memories. Thanks Lucas!!

Top quality touring - Our breakfast tour was excellent. We really felt immersed in the Tsukiji food scene and learned a lot about Japenese food at the start of our holiday. Everything we ate was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone going to Tokyo.

Great intro to food in Tokyo - Booked for our first morning in Tokyo. Had a great tour with Shigeki. He was knowledgeable about the fish market, passionate about Japanese’s seafood and purchased food for us to try picnic style as we walked. The hidden away restaurants where we sat and tasted felt off the beaten path. Would recommend to anyone looking for an introduction to Tokyo, Tsukiji and what to eat in Japan.

Amazing tour with Josh! - We had a great time on the tour with Josh. It was our first morning in Tokyo and the tour was everything we hoped it would be. We started with a breakfast in a small restaurant where Josh oriented us to the plan for the tour. The market was crowded that day so we followed along while Josh pointed things out and purchased different foods. Then we went up to some benches on a rooftop to have a picnic with all of the things Josh had purchased in the market. It was wonderful! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic way to hit the ground running. - We had a wonderful breakfast-time tour with Yasuhiro. He made us feel welcome, comfortable, and taught us a lot about the history and culture of the Tsukiji market. We did this tour the day after arriving in Japan, and it was a fantastic way to acclimate ourselves and get used to the vibe of Tokyo. Would do more tours with Arigato Travel again in a heartbeat. Pricey but worth it! - Our guide satori took us through the fish market and stalls we would never have found otherwise. Excellent English and was happy to explain Japanese customs at two different shrines and temples as well basic dining courtesy. Come hungry because you will be stuffed with fish and taiyaki!

Excellent Guide - We had a delightful tour with Trevor, who is from the USA. Everything he showed us and told us about had a purpose and we learned interesting gems of info about the area including the market, food, a shrine, customs and history. Since he is American, we were able to ask questions which he could answer and explain fully. He gave us a unique perspective as an American living in Japan for many years. In addition, he is an exceedingly nice person and it was great to spend this most worthwhile morning tour with him.

Great tour - We had a wonderful tour with Shigeki! The Turret coffee was delicious. He took our family through the fish market and prepared fresh sashimi and wasabi!! Would highly recommend.
