Bird eye tour of City - Only difficulty we had was Viator app won’t open and on clicking to open voucher to show it to board, it would force me to open Viator app which would force me to login with one click email which was going in circles and not opening. This forced me to call Customer Service of tour operator using expensive international calling.

Hop on Hop off bus tour - Good overall tour however limited busses run and finish early in the summer at 16.30. Space on busses are limited when cruise ships are in port

OK but ... - Weather was appalling, which probably taints my review. We only hopped off for the Hallsgrimskirkja Cathedral (open from 10am) and the fabulous Perlan Museum (allow 2.5 hours). The bus pick-up was reliable about every 30 minutes, but much of the route is past suburban apartment blocks, The recorded commentary is a reasonable history of Reykjavik, but the earphones and plugs are dodgy. My complaint is that the first 2 buses pulled over briefly at every stop, but the last driver sped past our hotel stop. When I queried he said we need to press a Stop button to request, when there is no signage to advise, and the other drivers stopped. The only reason to use the Hop-On for our stops is that taxis are expensive, so take the Hop-on as a cheaper shuttle alternative.

Avoid cruise day - We got the 2 day ticket, 1st day we got on the bus upstairs, and stayed on for the full tour, it was very hot, it was a nice sunny day ,roof was closed and heaters were on, someone went down to ask for it to be opened which he reluctantly did, 2nd day give yourself plenty of time as after 1st stop we went to get back on and we had to stand for 2 stops before we got a seat, and next stop we got off we couldn't get on the next bus, driver just said busy day,,and next bus is only 10 mins, it was half hr , on our way back we stood to allow 2 elderly to sit and they said couldn't get on the previous bus either, so didn't risk our next planned stop, we hadn't noticed how busy it was on our 1st day as was upstairs, if there for longer avoid cruise day ,

Great way to see a city without having to do alot of walking - No one told us or offered the earphones for the audio portion of the tour. So we missed hearing a large portion of the tour until we used our airline earbuds.

Waste of money - Using this bus wasted a lot of our precious time in Reykjavik. Didn’t realise that earphones were available (staff could have offered them as we entered the bus) so missed the commentary during the first few stops. When we were able to listen there was very little commentary anyway. The person selling the tickets sat at the front of the bus - another ticket seller later got on and sat beside her - thus blocking the forward view for passengers. Some of the stops were pointless and considerable time was spent just waiting at them. (Bus station for one). We got off at the cruise terminal, had a leisurely stroll, took a few photographs - by the time we returned the bus was still waiting there. At one stop the ticket seller went into a shop to buy food and drink for himself and the driver - whilst all the passengers had to wait! It really is no wonder that we had to wait absolutely ages for a bus to come. The one bus broke down … another delay.

Overcharged by driver - 1 adult, 2.children. ok trip but the driver charged us for 3 adult tickets and we didn't realise until later with the currency conversion showing up on the bank card. Poor service given it is already so expensive.

Don't waste your money, no working tour, no communication poor service - Don't waste your money, sound doesn't work on the tour. Bus just stops and waits in random stops for no reason. I have done numerous of these tours all around the world and this by far is the worst tour I have ever done. You be better getting just using a public bus and looking as round at fraction of the cost
