Colosseum - The tour will stop at the Colosseum, where after your driver provides historical explanations, you will have free time to explore the exterior and take pictures (recommended) or you can pre-purchase tickets for a 09.45 / 10.00 am entry.
Roman Forum - Enjoy a view of the Roman Forum from the top of the Imperial Forum Street, with a 10-minute explanation and photo stop.
Circus Maximus - Take pictures from Aventine Hill, overlooking Palatine Hill with the Emperor’s Palaces and the Circus Maximus race track below.
Piazza Venezia - Drive by the Victor Emanuel Monument and Mussolini Palace with a 5-minute stop for explanations and photos.
Pantheon - Visit the interior of the Pantheon after your driver guide’s explanations. You will need to make an online reservation in advance (cost Euro 5 each, not included). The total stop is 20 minutes.
Trevi Fountain - Stop for explanations and photo opportunities, then walk on your own to the fountain to throw a coin inside.
Spanish Steps - Stop and walk around to see the Spanish Steps, with opportunities for shopping and photos.
Vatican Museums - Enjoy a 2.5-hour visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel with pre-purchased “Skip the line” tickets for a 01.45 / 02.00 pm entrance.
Civitavecchia Port - Roundtrip transfer time from Civitavecchia Port to Rome and back (2 hours).

Do you want to experience Rome like a local? Enjoy a private 9-hour tour (including travel time) in the comfort of a brand new Mercedes van. We’ll pick you up right in front of your ship and ensure you’re back on time (we’ve never missed a ship in 26 years of service). Your English-speaking driver guide, a native of Rome, will provide you with fascinating historical insights and tips as you drive through the city. Once you stop, you’ll have the freedom to explore each site on your own. If you wish to visit the Colosseum and the Vatican Museum, you can pre-purchase entrance tickets for a 9:45/10 am entry to the Colosseum and a 2:00 pm entry to the Vatican Museum, allowing you to skip the lines (except for security checks). You’ll also get to see all the other major highlights. We recommend not visiting the inside of the Colosseum to allow more time for other sights!

Once in a lifetime - This was an excellent private tour arranged by Monica for me and my husband as we wanted to check all of the “must do sites” on our first tour of Rome. The private car was perfect on a record heat day. Mauro was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. He heard us wanting a cappuccino early in the morning and insisted on taking us to one of his favorite local places. It was well worth the 20 minute detour. We saw ALL of the sites with knowledge given the entire way of what areas we were passing etc. We wanted a full Vatican day so we will do that next time and requested we do a local food tour instead. Monica and Carlo made an excellent side tour for us guided by Angelo. The Suppli, charcuterie board, and three Pasta dishes were seriously some of the best food we’ve ever had and that’s coming from a couple of very picky New Yorkers lol. We felt like a true local thanks to Angelo not taking us to tourist traps and only to the most local establishments. Thank you thank you thank you for making our day easy, and a memory of a lifetime!

Great Introduction to Rome’s Best Sights - Mauro was a GREAT driver and was very knowledgeable. He was immediately where we discussed when pickup was needed, and he always got very close by so we didn’t have to walk far (in addition to the Tour walking). Lunch was amazing at his recommended spot! I would ask for him again if we return to Civitavecchia.

Best way to see Rome from the port - Very knowledgeable and friendly. Very adaptable and understanding in meeting our requests. The van he used was very clean and comfortable. He explained our arrangements completely and assisted us in arranging the important sites to see

Great cruise ship private tour - Great private tour of Rome, seamless pickup and return to the ship. Seeing Rome in peak tourist season is crowded, but this private tour takes all of the stress out. Our driver was helpful and knowledgeable, and my family is still talking about the lunch we had from his recommended restaurant.

A perfect day! - I just wanted to take a moment to say how much we enjoyed our excursion with Shore Excursions In Italy. Laura was our driver and we had an excellent time with her. She is a wonderful person and we really enjoyed spending the day with her! Our group was so happy that we got to visit San Gimignano and Florence in the same day! It was truly the perfect day!

A great way to see Rome from the port to the airport - Joseph was very lovely and accomodating for our needs. We included a pick up from port after the cruise and drop at the airport, with plenty of time to see the sites of Rome. We never felt rushed and we could pace the day just how we liked. Highly recommend!

Day trip to Rome - Our trip was fabulous thanks to our guide Carlo and his son Federico. We were picked up at the train station and given an extensive tour of Rome. We were a family of 6 including two teens and two grandparents and Carlo and son took great care of all of us. At one point in the trip my dad was getting too tired to do any more walking and Carlo and son gladly stayed with him while the rest of us finished the walking part of our tour. I am very grateful for their professionalism and kindness! If I could give 10 stars I would without hesitation as they made our visit to Rome a memorable one. Thank you from all of us once again!

Nice Tour with Knowledgeable Guide - Fabrizio was a great driver who was full of information about Roman history. He helped us to see so many wonderful sights in a short amount of time. We stopped and had a delicious lunch outside of the Vatican and enjoyed some laughs in the car ride back to port. Although Fabrizio almost canceled our tour just before departure due to a miscommunication over a car seat, he made the best with what he had and showed us a good time. Would recommend this company for a nice time in Rome.
