Exceptional Tour with Daniel - Highly Recommended! - My wife, Jenna, and I recently spent a day in Rome on a Civitatours tour with Daniel as our guide, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, Daniel’s exceptional hospitality and expertise made our day truly special.
Daniel is incredibly knowledgeable and speaks multiple languages fluently, including Spanish, English, and Italian. He seamlessly switched between them, ensuring everyone in our small group of 8 to 10 felt included and understood.
We visited the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Vatican. Daniel provided fascinating tidbits and fun facts about each location, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of these historic sites.
Daniel’s commitment to our enjoyment and comfort was evident throughout the tour. He kept our group together effortlessly, ensuring no one missed out on any details. He also arranged a fantastic, authentic Italian lunch at a very reasonable price.
Since it was our honeymoon, Daniel went above and beyond by surprising us with an “I love Rome” magnet, a gesture that meant a lot to us. He always had a smile and made sure we were comfortable and engaged.
The tour bus, driven by the friendly Paulo, was very comfortable and air-conditioned. Paulo ensured a smooth and pleasant ride, adding to the overall experience.
For anyone looking to explore Rome in a 5-6 hour tour, I highly recommend Civitatours. Daniel’s dedication to his clients, combined with his extensive knowledge and personal touches, made our tour an exceptional experience. Thank you, Daniel, for a memorable day in Rome!

Perfect and affordable price - Perfect organization, just on arrival the shuttles to the port are not well marked but this is independent of the organization. Top guide Andrea, bring a snack because lunch at 3 p.m.!

Adults only - Correct, the Cuban girl who attended us on the super friendly bus, not so the driver, a certain Angelo, who of education and sympathy shines by his absence, as I say one thing I say the other, the Cuban girl (super friendly and Pro license plate), then there was strike of transporters as the girl said. The point is that to go quickly to see the main things gives time, if it is the same as ours, standing in Saint Peter's Square 30 minutes, in the Colosseum about 20 minutes, and in the Trevi Fountain another 20 minutes, then to a restaurant where the Guide suggested us, which I do not remember the name (of the Guide ), you see a Pro girl, and at the same time prepared to do the marathon in record time.
The restaurant, a couple of waiters with faces that owe you money before sitting down (until the owner came up and explained), wanted to lift us off the site because we only ordered 3 pizzas and 6 drinks for 3 children and 3 adults because we had 40 minutes to eat, and there were people who took the pizza in a box. (If you get 60 people to eat at a time, and there are 40 minutes).. advice: take a mouthful of the hotel or cruise and it is more profitable, and go to the bathroom, because if not you barely have time (so you save a couple of discomforts at urination and lunchtime).
I want to think that the strike and that the boat was leaving earlier was the trigger for so much speed...
I do not recommend at least me, excursion with minors who are prepared to walk, and less with young children who need to go to the bathroom (you are charged 1.5 euros for going to the bathroom, at least to me).
With older people with much less trouble walking, as they were left behind 4 people who did not return to the bus, and it is seen that this had never happened, but there is always a first time. The taxi back to civitavechia is very cheap (irony on mode) 150 bowling. If you miss the bus that thank God wasn't my case, that's what a taxi charges you.
It's all the information I can give, there are people who have had a better time than me, and worse too.
Anyway to get in touch with roma, and do a CrossFit session is pretty good.
The best Rome and its monuments (and the Cuban girl on the bus who was a charmer).
The worst part is the face of someone who looks like they're fighting with the world or you owe them money. More joy, that we only live once. It's my humble personal review.

Not what I signed up for - This felt like a classic bait and switch. We chose the panoramic tour so we could explore on our own and meet back at the bus. They pushed for $15 Euro upgrade for the headset tour which we opted out of. However the only way to get any info about when and where to meet was to follow the entire tour (basically a 5 mile urban road march) with a few minutes at the end to explore. By then we were so fed up we didn’t care to explore. From 9:40 until 3:30 there was one sanctioned bathroom break (and the one on the bus was “out or order”.

Unfortunately went a little differently - We had booked a tour with guide and explanations in German. That was not fulfilled.
Wasn't exactly what we had in mind.

Be prepared to get scammed! - The tour guide in the Bus charged us extra to see the Colosseum, even though it was already included.
The tour guide was very rude.
Lots of walking with no breaks. The tour guide didn't even bother to look if everyone was there.
Never again doing a tour like this.
Everyone was complaining!

Only book this tour if... - Only book this tour if you are comfortable with seeing the tourist attractions frm the outside. We only understood once we were on our way to Rome that we would NOT visit any of the attractions listed, we would only see them from the window of a bus, except for a quick stop and St Peter's square and a fast walk between the Colosseum and Fontana di Trevi. And one hour that we were let loose to explore the city and fend for ourselves to get back to the meeting point for the bus. (Note: we paid extra when we were in the bus to actually get off and see the Colosseum from the outside, and our meeting point was changed twice during our trip from the ship to Rome). A total rip off.

I have never been able to visit Civitavecchia. - Cruise stop, scheduled one-hour tour to show the main things in Civitavecchia.
Disappointment and rip-off of an hour, noisy bus with absent guide, no stops except at the Taurine spa where we would have had to pay another €7 who knows who and for what... in not even an hour of city traffic we spent €30, I could have rented a car to do the same things..

A Complete Dud! - Let me start out to say I travel a lot, over 70 countries. Our tour started out as a cluster being so disorganized, so many different groups all together no one really knowing where to stand. Cruise ship buses continued coming dropping hoards of people all mingling into the mess. Tour was supposed to leave at 9:30. We were asked to be there 30 minutes early which we were, checking in at 8:45. At 9:25 there were still no indication that the tour bus was being filled so I asked the young lady who was checking us in about our group number four she said we were fine just go back and stand with the group of people, 10 o’clock came still no bus I again asked where was the bus she replied she didn’t know at 10:25 I asked where the bus was she told me the bus was stuck in traffic. At this time we were thinking we should have taken the train and deliberating canceling all together. At 10:40 they finally called group 4 everyone rushed to the bus. We ended up having to sit in the back. When the bus pulled out we could hardly hear the guide who happened to be the same girl we checked in with. Someone sitting a few seats up asked would the tour extend the hour and a half we were late leaving and the guide replied no because everyone wasn’t on the same schedule and the bus driver was working on his day off! Then she replied that we would miss some of the scheduled activities but don’t worry we could see them on our next trip to Italy. 😳 The guide making her way to the back of the bus checking peoples names when she got to us she said “sorry about the delay we had to wait for a bus from a delayed cruise ship” I replied I’m disappointed because a lot of us being where and when we were told to be are missing what we purchased and expected. The guides response was “well if the roles were reversed you would expect the same” I said absolutely not. We didn’t arrive into the city until 12:15 … The most important part of the tour missed was seeing the inside of Vatican. The day was pushing thru crowds trying to keep everyone together following a little black umbrella and finally at 3:20 we were told we could have until 3:50 for lunch, thank goodness I brought snacks because my husband is a diabetic, no where in the area she brought us could you get food in 30 minutes everything being a sit down restaurant you would be lucky to even get sat down nevermind order and get food. I personally will never book another tour thru this group and have talked to several friends who are coming on this cruise we have booked about our less than pleasant experience. A complete dud in my book.

Never again - For some unknown reason, our registration ended up in a Spanish group. However, we had no knowledge of Spanish. The group's tour guide did not take this into account and also set a decent pace, which we, as 70-year-olds, could only keep up with with great effort. I had the impression that other (older) participants on the tour felt the same way. All in all, a disappointing experience that I would have gladly avoided. It also included a much longer walk than the colorful bus pictures in the advertisement promised.
