The excursion starts with a trip to Câmara de Lobos, a quaint fishing village known for its renowned swordfish catch. Afterward, we traverse through Europe’s highest cliff, Cabo Girão standing grand at 580 meters. It offers incredible views of the sea, Câmara de Lobos, and Funchal. The journey continues along the coast till we reach Ribeira Brava. As we ascend to Encumeada, we reach the Paul da Serra plateau (1400 meters high). A descent to Porto Moniz ensues, you’ll get a chance to marvel at its natural pools. We pause for lunch (lunch costs not included). The return journey stretches along the northern coast, passing the beautiful Seixal and São Vicente. Another ascent to Encumeada at 1007 meters, treats us to a rare sight of the sea from both directions. Lastly, we return to Funchal.
