Wonderful day trip far from crowds! - This is the perfect day trip if you are looking at hiking a section of the wall far from the massive crowds of tourists. It’s 2 hour drive from the city (with no traffic) but very worth it. Pick up was smooth and Jacky was the best and the minivan comfortable. I really loved the unguided aspect of it so you can really go at your own rhythm. Just one piece of advice if it’s your first time hiking the wall: you really need to be fit as there are a LOT of VERY steep climbing and stairs as you walk 22 stations. On the way down there are also a lot of stairs. I à an experienced and regular hiker and my legs took quite a stroll on that day lol The sceneries are just magnificent. One of my best hiking day ever.

Recommend - Glad we paid to go further afield to Jinshangling as it wasn't busy. Enjoyed going along the wall at own pace rather than feeling rushed due to the crowds. Breathtaking scenery, and a must if visiting Beijing. Jackie our driver, and English speaking was informative and took great care of the group we were in as we all had different abilities. The minibus was clean and comfortable, I even managed 40 winks along the way. We contemplated paying to hire a taxi for the day but for us this was the better option. Only disappointment was the cable car wasn't operating that day.

Great experience - This is a really great part of the wall. Not many people, not even on a public holiday. Some stairs are very very steep so it is a workout! There’s no info or tour included, only the transport basically. Traffic gets crazy so do not make any early reservations for the evening.

Totalmente recomendable - It was a great experience with Jackie and Mr.Soon as driver. We were 5 people, they did a bigger group with another different-sizes groups, in total we were 10 kindly person. The trip was almost 3 hours, but the great wall was almost only for us. We had the best photos we could have taken, and they were very nice and puntual! Thank you, guys!!!

Amazing Tour, really loved it! - It was an amazing tour! That side of the Great Wall was really beautiful and there are very few people which makes it much more enjoyable and walkable! Be prepares to walk and climb quite a lot, bit in the end the landscapes are just breath-taking!

Long, but ideal Great Wall Tour - Great tour, they handle all of the logistics. You are required to take your own lunch, which was a slight challenge but we found a takeaway wrap at a grocery store. The trek from one section through to the next was incredible, and you have it basically alone. So worth the 3 hour drive.

Unbelievable experience at the Great Wall after Covid-19 in China - This was really a fantastic experience! I couldn't believe I could hike the Great Wall again soon after China is open. This time I took this private tour with my friend at Downtown Travel. Our guide Zak is perfect! He is very knowledgeable and patient, always ready to answer my question... And the tour was very well organized. We were rather flexible as there were only me and my friend in this private tour. Jinshanling is by far the most appealing section of the Great Wall I've ever been (I took this tour years ago). I think will come back again to hike other sections of the Great Wall. For sure I will do again with Downtown Travel and Zak. I felt very happy!!!

Beautiful section of the Great Wall - It's a beautiful section of the Great Wall, with little crowds. Our group was the only one on the wall section, and after the first 15 min we had all spread apart enough that it really felt like you were alone on the Great Wall. There were plenty of bathrooms along the wall (very clean actually). There are vendors setup in some towers with cold drinks to sell you. They never bothered us, and we actually really liked having an ice cold drink. This is a very hilly section of the wall, and was pretty challenging. But the nice part is that the starting point is actually really low to the ground, so you don't have to hike up this big hill to actually make it onto the wall. The hills definitely start after you're on the wall itself, but it was nice to have the access point be really easy.

Awesome! - It's the path less traveled so there is no crowd at all in winter, you also get to let less restored sections of the wall. The guide was also groundout and knowledgeable. The wall itself just blew me away!

Wobderful experience far from the croud - We book the group tour. Meeting point easy to access in beijing. This day (8th august) we were a "big group" of more than 20 people. Even though, on site just a little more people. We had some good explanations from the guide and then 3 hours to walk on the wall (some parts renovated, some less and at the end not at all so a complete idea). We first eat and had some rest so after we were Alone along lots of part of the wall. Some part are quite difficult but it worth even if the weather was so hot. Enough time to enjoy the wall and do the walk. Way back on time un beijing. We highly recommend this tour. We booked it directly at the ghesthouse (even if we were not sleeping here)
