Highlights
  • Plaza Minorista - By bike, we will arrive at the heart of the local culture: the famous “Market of the Minorista”. In this popular place, you will be surrounded by the “pregoneros”, the PAISA traders who negotiate, joke and chat in a good mood. “MARACUYA, MORA, FRESA, fresh and cheap!” You will discover fruits, vegetables and spices that are part of the Colombian terroir and will know the ingredients used by Leonor Espinosa, famous Colombian chef, when she won the title of best chef in the world in 2022.
  • Plaza Botero - After gastronomy, it’s time for art and culture! We will enter the center with our bikes until we reach Plaza Botero, where we will make a special stop with a “Quiz”. You will answer 15 questions that will reveal fascinating information, stories and anecdotes about the city center. We will discover the statues of Master Botero, the monuments that surround them and their meanings…
  • Coltejer Building - The Coltejer Building, an icon of Medellín, rises like a needle into the sky, reflecting the textile and modern spirit of the city. A symbol of PAISA progress since 1972.
  • Junín - We will walk along La Playa Avenue, which intersects with the commercial street Junín. Here you will feel the energy of the street vendors who fill the streets with their products, their aromas and above all the incessant singing of their voices.
  • Plaza de las Luces Medellin. - This emblematic place is a symbol of the resilience and transformation of the population of Medellín. Once known for its insecurity, this site has been rehabilitated to become a space of light and life, thanks to an innovative urban project.
  • Parques del Rio - Heading towards the west of the city. We cross this East-West border by taking the “Parques del Río”: an example of innovative urban planning. This green and social space promotes urban cohesion, offering residents a place to meet, relax and engage in cultural activities, while defining the relationship between citizens and their environment. A quiet and ideal place to take beautiful photos.
  • Conquistadores - Next to the Parques del Río, we will take you to discover a hidden gem of Medellín: the Conquistadores neighborhood. A flourishing place where peace and well-being reign. Here, plants are grown, creating a pleasant atmosphere for its inhabitants.
  • Parque Belén - Dominated by its church, the park is bustling with shoe shiners, passionate domino players and newspaper vendors shouting the day’s news. You can also discover the “Greca”, the traditional morning coffee machine, a symbol of Colombian hospitality. It’s the perfect opportunity to observe the dynamics of Medellín.
  • Comuna 13 - We arrive at the long-awaited last stop: Comuna 13! This neighborhood, now a symbol of peace and resilience, is located in the west of the city. Once considered one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world, Comuna 13 was born from a population displaced from rural areas. Its inhabitants have endured numerous armed clashes and massacres involving the FARC, drug traffickers, paramilitaries and military forces, all fighting for control of the territory.

We will leave the bikes and set off on foot through the alleys of Comuna 13 to discover the stories of resilience that have reborn this neighborhood. We will see how urban art has become a powerful tool for transformation and discuss the leaders who have done so much for the community. Between rappers, painters and dancers, you will feel the energy of the artists and protagonists who have transformed this place into an internationally recognized work of art.

  • Mirador comuna 13 - We will take you to a viewpoint known only to the residents of the neighborhood, from where you can contemplate the entire Comuna 13 and the city of Medellín. From here you can take incredible photos and reflect on the work of social transformation carried out by the residents.
  • Cafe WAIKAO de la 13 - We will have a delicious tasting of Colombian coffee, using the Chemex or V60 methods. This experience will allow us to discover local initiatives up close and appreciate how the youth of the neighborhood progress by promoting the products of their country.

Guided tour not to be missed! - We visited Medellin with Tom and had an EXCELLENT day!!! On the program visit the city by very pleasant electric bike with stops to explain some places, monuments, sculptures..., tasting of exotic fruits at the market, very good local meal and very interesting walking tour of the Communa 13 away from the beaten track. Tom is very familiar with Colombian history and culture. He explains everything with great authenticity. It would be unfortunate to visit Medellin without calling on Tom, who in addition to his skills is very nice. Nb: As a bonus we had the chance to make this visit with a very nice couple of tourists who contributed to this beautiful day.

Medellin in e-Bike with Tom 👍 - Day with friends and teenagers in Medellin with Tom. Excellent guide, friendly, passionate about Colombia living there for 6 years. The originality and success of the tour comes from Tom’s knowledge of the people and places off the beaten track of Medellin, himself having rubbed shoulders with Colombians from all walks of life. The e-bike allows you to quickly visit many places and soak up the city by ending up on Comuna 13 but seen in an exceptional and non-tourist way in the places known as Tom. In short, you will have a great time.

Stay in Medellin off the beaten track - Tom was the perfect Guide for our stay in Medellin and its surroundings! The whole Bikard family recommends 100% to trust Tom to make you discover Medellin, far from prejudices and the beaten track. We feel like we have discovered the “soul” of the city, which would have been impossible if we had just used our Paper Guide and our info gleaned from right to left. On top of that, the organization of the 2 days was impeccable, and Tom is super nice! We spent two days with Tom: - 1st to discover Medellin on electric bikes to cover a lot of ground without tiring, walk punctuated by stops to explain the history, geography, state of mind of Medellin; tasting of Colombian fruits at the Point of Sale, local lunch, stop in the high places of the city finishing by Comuna 13 far from the tourist corners, with an exceptional panorama just for us - The 2nd to discover Guatape, a small colorful village not far from Medellin and on a lake where the landscapes are beautiful: transport, ascent of the Peñon to see the surrounding landscapes, quiet lunch and private boat tour on the lake In short, you can trust Tom with your eyes closed. He will adapt to your desires to make your stay in Medellin memorable!

Cycling to Medelin is great with Tom - We were traveling to Colombia and Mexico. In Medellín we spent an extraordinary day with Tom. Visiting the city by electric bike was great. Tom took his time to guide us , explain us , stop for coffee, meet local people. The visit of the city, the Point of Sale with spices and multicolored smells, the streets of Medellín, Botero Square, municipality 13, Tom took us to this city that adopted it. With his sense of humor and his relationship with the locals, our day was perfect, rewarding and interactive. In addition, we extended the next day the pleasure of this very friendly meeting with the visit of Guatapé. Thanks Tom, thanks to you We will have very good memories of Medellín.
