Spreading across 8.3 km (5 miles), the road features 8 bridges that cumulatively span 891 meters. It’s constructed on assorted tiny islands and skerries and is connected by eight bridges and several landfills.
The mountain Sjurvarden (Stemshesten) extends towards the sea, offering an impressive view of Hustadvika, the Atlantic Ocean, and the coastal landscape from Sunnmøre in the west to Smøla on Nordmøre in the north.
