After the repast, we continued to visit the region and, in contrast to the morning visit, the next cellar is a symbol of modernity, whether in terms of the building, equipment or production methods.
After the visit and wine tasting, return to the starting point in Coimbra.

The Dão Designated Area is essentially a plateau ensconced in a cluster of mountains where vineyards thrive at altitudes between 400 and 700 meters. The unique blend of soil, climate, and grape types results in high-quality wines. Known as the Burgundy of Portugal, the Dão region produces velvety, full-bodied wines with superb acidity, making the reds particularly suitable for aging. The whites, on the other hand, feature a distinct fruitiness and remarkable freshness.
Take a tour and visit one of the region’s most time-honored and notable wineries. You’ll get to sample their wines and explore their historical vineyards that have two centuries of tales to tell. Lunch features a tasting of the area’s traditional dishes, such as Dão Lafões-style veal or roasted lamb.
After lunch, we’ll explore more of the region. For a change of pace from the morning’s old-world charm, the next winery is a celebration of modernism, from its architecture and equipment to its winemaking techniques.
