Truly inspirational, fascinating and FUN! - The Alaskan husky is an amazing working dog, and these dogs are so well loved and cared for by the team. Socialized to be around all kinds of people, these dogs are bred not for their looks but for their love of work, a hearty appetite, and endurance. The teamwork of the dogs with the musher and with each other is a true inspiration! We had so much fun learning about them all and about long distance races!! PS the puppies are too precious for words :-)

Great Winter Activity in Fairbanks! - We had a wonderful time on our do sled tour with Katrina! It was a beautiful day and the tour was very informative about the sport. We loved spending time with the dogs, learning about what it takes to be a musher in contemporary Alaska, and experiencing the beauty of the winter wonderland of Fairbanks in February.

Dog mushing in Alaska - Although the sled itself is not the most comfortable method of transportation, especially for seniors, like us, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and Miguel, our dog musher was very personable, informative and helpful, so that we did enjoy our experience overall. We initially booked this tour, since it was associated with the lady who won four of the Iditarod events and had a long history of dog mushing in the Fairbanks area. We enjoyed our time on the sled and the scenery was amazing since we come from the East Coast and normally do not see this kind of snow in our area. Although the time on the sled was limited, the opportunity to experience, this type of event was really special for us. I would advise that you come wearing the appropriate clothing, especially with potential subzero temperatures, in order to really enjoy your time on the sled. The personnel offered some heavy clothing if you didn’t already have it, but not knowing how often it is maintained/cleaned we were glad to have had our own heavy duty winter gear. We had a brief opportunity to meet the husband/owner of this kennel who had been married to the four-time Iditarod champion. He and his staff were very hospitable. My wife and I would recommend this experience for adults and children alike. The dogs were friendly and lovable, and definitely enjoyed their time out on the trail!

Must try!!! better pricing than others. - This is a must do if you stop by in Fairbanks. The musher and team was very friendly. As an Arizonian who never sees the snow, the dogs were amazing to see in action.

Exhilarating ride - Trail Breaker Kennels …all the way! Amazing journey across miles of open space with dogs trained to run the Iditarod and ones being trained for this race. Our experience began with a phone cell to Tekla to see if we could arrange a tour on a specific day for two (when only one slot was available). Tekla made it happen and secured the twilight tour for us. When we arrived, we were greeted by Ida, who made sure we had all the proper gear to stay warm and comfortable, so that we could enjoy the ride. Our musher was Elena, who was soft spoken and knowledgeable and showed us how much she loved working with the dogs and training with them. Four miles and 40 minutes later, we returned to the main building all frosty, cold and exhilarated. What an experience. Lots of opportunities to ask questions, pet the dogs and enjoy the terrain. Absolutely AMAZING!
