Colombo - Sigiriya
Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Rising majestically from the central plains, the mysterious rocky outcrop of Sigiriya is arguably Sri Lanka’s most striking sight. Its near-vertical walls ascend to a flat-topped summit that holds the remnants of an ancient civilization, believed to have been the heart of the short-lived kingdom of Kassapa. The early morning offers breathtaking views over mist-covered forests.
Golden Temple of Dambulla - The Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, located in the central region of the country. It is 148 kilometers east of Colombo and 72 kilometers north of Kandy. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.
Sigiriya - Kandy
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most significant Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room containing the tooth is accessible to devotees and tourists. However, the tooth itself is not visible as it is kept in a gold casket shaped like a dagoba (stupa), which contains a series of six dagoba caskets of decreasing size. In addition to the revered main temple, the complex includes several smaller temples, shrines, and museums.
Kandy View Point - Ascend the hill by Kandy Lake to reach Kandy View Point and enjoy an unbeatable view of the city. As a popular tourist destination, the area attracts many vendors, though they often sell items of lesser quality. The area is also known for high pickpocket activity, so be vigilant with your belongings. From the hill, you can enjoy stunning views over the lake and the entire city.
Kandy - Ella
Glenloch Tea Factory - Glenloch Tea Factory is located in the Nuwara Eliya District at Katukithula on the route from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. The Glenloch tea plantation at Katukithula is maintained using proper planting methods, soil conservation, and management. Sri Lanka’s silvering waterfalls naturally enhance the beauty of nature, and the climate and soil conditions are ideal for the healthy growth of tea plants. Experience, dedication, and the application of correct technology, along with its natural resources, have earned Sri Lanka a stellar reputation for its tea. Glenloch tea is a major contributor to Sri Lanka’s significant effort to become the world’s leading producer of quality tea.
Ramboda Waterfall - Ramboda Falls is 109 meters high, making it the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the 729th highest in the world. It is located in the Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It is formed by Panna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya, and is situated at an altitude of 945 meters above sea level.
Sita Temple - The Sita Amman Temple, dedicated to Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, is located in the hills of Nuwara Eliya and is revered by Hindus as it is considered the only temple of its kind in the world. It is situated five kilometers along the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. According to history, this is where King Ravana held Sita captive. An intriguing feature of the temple is the presence of footprints by the river, believed to resemble those of Hanuman.
Ella - The views through Ella Gap are breathtaking, and on a clear day, you can even spot the faint glow of the Great Basses lighthouse on Sri Lanka’s south coast.
Ella - Udawalawe Safari - Colombo
Ravana’s Cave - Ravana’s Cave is located about 2 km from Ella town and 11 km (7 mi) from Bandarawela. It is a relatively small cave, measuring about 50 feet wide, 150 feet long, and 60 feet high. According to history, the cave was used by King Ravana to hide Princess Sita.
Udawalawe National Park - This park is home to several hundred elephants and other rare plants and wildlife.
