The main market segment is designed like a gigantic crossword puzzle, where one may traverse through the entire markets from dawn till dusk, but not completely cover every part of it.
Pettah is derived from Tamil: Pettai, an Anglo-Indian word used to indicate a suburb outside a fort. Today, the Sinhala phrase, pita-kotuwa (outside the fort) conveniently describes the same place.

GREAT Experience! - We went on a Colombo Tuk Tuk City Tour on December 11, 2024 with an amazing tour guide ROMESH! We had such a great time! Romesh showed us many sites, explained to us about the country's s history, people, etc. He is a very good driver, we felt safe!We finished our tour with a nice lunch.
We would recommend this tour 100%. Thank you very much!

Second Time Booking - This is actually my second time booking a tour with Caviar and the guys. The first time I had a tour with them was when I went for a backpacking solo trip to Sri Lanka, this time I was with my family. I specifically choose them again because I have proven their service to be really good. Also, the tour packages are really affordable and worth the price. We got so many with the tour we availed. We went to many beautiful places around Colombo like Temples, Lighthouse,
Towers, Parks and more.

Great tour guide Black Caviar - Our visit to Sri Lanka was so much fun, our guide and driver made us feel like family and gave us a ton of memories that we will always cherish. Good thing we booked this Colombo city tour by Tuk Tuk, aside from being affordable, they went above and beyond to show us lovely places around Colombo. The Memorial Hall, Fort, and more were picturesque. While stopping by Manning market was fun. We get to buy stuff conveniently thanks to our guides. The entire tour was well planned, punctual, and we felt secure with everyone. We will book them again for our anniversary.

Colombo City Tour - All-inclusive - The tour offers many highlights at once. The Buddhist and Hindu temples were great. We were able to discover something unknown at the vegetable market. The explanations from our guide Caviar were understandable and he got us through the traffic confidently. The snack in between and the Kottu at the end tasted great. A good opportunity to collect unforgettable impressions of Colombo. Thanks Caviar for dropping us off for a sundowner @Kingsbury Hotel.

Great half day tour of Colombo - Great half day tour of Colombo by Romesh. He made it really enjoyable and presented the content at just the right level for two adults and two kids. Length was just right to keep the kids interested and he kept things flowing. I would definitely recommend it as a good use of money and time if you find yourself in Colombo and want a tour of the highlights of the city.

Eutopian experience! - Colombo city is magnificent and its Beauty is quite spectacular! Views were amazing as we traveled by tuk tuk around the city of Colombo. Our driver was Rawal who drove us proffessionaly while the tourguide Ramesh gave us lecture on the historical or cultural sites we visited. We enjoyed Our trip as always! We will Return again for sure!

Great intro to Colombo! - I would say this is the best way to see Colombo!
I booked this tour just hours before, and was picked up at the hostel by a smiling tour guide and a freshly opened coconut. The tour was easily adapted to my liking, with focus on food and drinks. Still, we took a trip around the different districts of Colombo, and I was introduced to the different buildings and the history of Colombo.
The driver was well-known around the city and drove safely while at the same time explaining everything we saw.
I went home very full of delicious food and with some great experiences.
Would absolutely recommend this tour!

Amazing tour with Kevi - Me and my boyfriend went on this amazing til tuk tour today and had the greatest time ever. Kevi, our driver, started the trip with opening two delicious coconuts for us to enjoy on the ride.
He did an amazing job in explaining and telling about the different places in the area. We really enjoyed seeing parts of the city where many locals hang out. Also we loved learning about the Hindu and Sri Lankan culture.
This tour was just wonderful, great company, great stops and great food and beverages as well. We recommend this tour. Just let all the wonderful sights give you a new perspective of this wonderful county with an amazing culture and friendly people.

Fantastic introduction to Colombo’s sights and food/drink - I wanted to make the most of a layover in Colombo and this looked like a good option: I’m delighted that I decided to sign up as I had a brilliant time with Kavithan who made sure I was really well looked after!!
I was arriving late morning and leaving the next day, early, so booked a hotel right beside the airport. Kavithan came to the airport to pick me up and then waited while I showered and relaxed for a while before we headed off. The tour was excellent, taking in beautiful temples, past and present government buildings and landmarks, a brilliant tea shop and, of course, food and juice. Kavithan was knowledgeable, great fun and even knew the best angles for photos!! The food and drink were delicious - I especially loved the hoppers 😍
I would definitely book another tour and look forward to doing so next time I am in Sri Lanka. I can’t recommend this enough 🤩
