Great Tour Guide! - I had Thairu as my tour guide, and he was hands down the best guide I had in Sri Lanka! He’s incredibly fun to be around, has a great sense of humor, and knows so much about the sites. He even adjusted the itinerary to make sure I got to see everything I wanted. At one point, I lost the back of my earring, and he actually searched the streets until he found it! When our tuk-tuk broke down on the way home, I was ready to grab an Uber, but he insisted on personally escorting me back in another tuk-tuk. I can’t recommend him enough—if you’re considering this tour, definitely go with Thairu!

Lovely City/food Tour ❤️ - Had a fabulous city/ food tour today, I booked in the morning after realising it was a public Bank Holiday. So the tour operator did a revised itinerary due to a couple of places that were closed for the holiday, he sent me the tour in advance for my approval before I booked and paid. My tour guide Asiri was wonderful Although I'd been sent a list of tour stops, and food I'd be trying. Asiri was very flexible I could skip certain places or stop if I spotted something of interest. It was alot of fun. I wasn't rushed at all, and could spend as much time as I wanted at each stop I was picked up at 3.30pm from my guest house, and was still out sightseeing at 10pm.... Would definitely recommend.. 5 stars

Authentic Food Experience - Our guide was great, we asked if we could have an authentic food focused experience and he made sure that happened and taught us about the local food culture. It was pouring rain which meant a lot of markets shut but he found alternatives and showed us the attractions on the way - would 100% recommend our guide he made sure the experience was catered to us personally and showed us traditional meals for each sitting

Disappointing - Unfortunately this experience was getting driven around the city without a lot of interaction. The guide wasn’t much of a guide at all and took us around to different spots, albeit very cool areas but we were expecting an actual guide to chat to and learn about the food and culture. Our guide spent most of his time talking on the phone while we walked around from place to place. It didn’t seem like an a very well organized company. I would book elsewhere for a better experience.

Not recommended - Ridiculously overpriced. I've been on food tours around the world and it's one of my favourite things to do. But this is hardly a food tour. We spent 80% of the time in a Tuktuk. There was not much to try or eat at all. Our driver looked like he was winging it the whole time. Made me feel like theres nothing to actually try in Sri Lanka. Would not recommend.

Very Disappointing and Overpriced - Very disappointing. The reasons for this are listed below. 1. This is not a street food tour which is what the title led us to believe. We were looking forward to trying lots of street food as we are big foodies, however we got two plates of food in small restaurants and 2 pieces of street food. Most of the food came in the last hour by which stage we were already frustrated. 2. We were brought to Gem and Tea 'Museums', which were really just shops owned by friends who were nice but understandably just trying to sell to us. It was frustrating to pay money and then be used to try to squeeze more money out of us. 3. Even if we forget about the fact that this was misrepresentated as a food tour and imagine it as a city tour, the tour guide, while a very nice man, had basic English and so would not have been able to give us much detail about anything we were being shown. 4. Value- we paid $78 USD for 2 people and for that we got around $10 of food together (could see prices on the menu). We got some transport for a few hours but that wasn't what we had signed up for nor wanted. Our itinerary: Galle Face Beach (small prawn cake + coconut each), Temple x 1hr, Gem Shop, Tea Shop, Restaurant (average plate of food), red Mosque from outside, spicy chickpea street food, lotus tower from outside, local restaurant (that one was actually nice). There might be something I've missed but certainly nothing memorable. I have seen other users have their negative reviews discredited so let me pre-empt that by saying that we definitely went on this tour, we love sri lankan food, we have loved other street food tours.
