Kitulagala is a quaint town nestled amidst dense forest hills on the western side of the Kandy to Nuwara Eliya road, renowned for offering thrilling adventure sports. This place once served as the backdrop for David Lean’s 1957 Oscar-acclaimed movie ‘Bridge on the River Kwai’, filmed along the banks of the Kelani River. A considerable portion of its adventure-seeking tourists hail from Colombo. Apart from its paramount attraction, which is white water rafting on the Kelani River, Kitulgala is also sought after for a variety of sports. These include confidence jump, stream sliding, waterfall abseiling, jungle trekking, bird watching, cave exploration, river trips, and exploratory expeditions.
- The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions
- Swimsuits, fast drying shorts, appropriate river shoes, etc. for the river
- Dry clothes and towels for after the trip
- Mandatory to complete 14 days of quarantine for unvaccinated passengers before starting the tour.
- Vaccinated passengers should stay in Level 1 hotel once arrived in Sri Lanka and obtain negative PCR report, in order to start the tour. (14 Days of quarantine is not required).
