Market shopping and cooking with Nim - Outstanding service provided by Nim from the pickup and return to our hotel in Colombo, shopping for the ingredients at the local open air fresh food and spice market and the private cooking class in his beautiful home. Nim’s knowledge of the fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices was complete. No trip to Colombo would be complete without this tour. Well done Nim.👍👍👍👍

morning colombo market tour & cooking in a group - It was definitely one of the best touring cooking classes i've gone before. I like that we didn't only visit the market to collect supplies. The rustic cooking class also let us explore the traditional market. I got to see and experience a real sri lankan lifestyle and culture along with its fineest dishes.

They really surprise me - I have an Indian background. so I'm familiar with spicy Asian food. We use same spices and add-ons to make same type of curries.these guys they use ginger, garlic, cinnamon and many other same spices, but the taste!! it was amazing. I never had this much amazing taste. I wish I could stay for more lessons and learn something more of your secrets. Thanks guys.

The best meal of my one month trip - The meal we create was by far one of the best we had throughout our whole trip! If we get the chance to go back again Sri Lanka, this would be the very first thing we'd do again. What a wonderful, joyous, fun and delicious memories! worth it. don't miss when you are in Sri lanka.

Such a welcoming host & atomosphere - what a friendly, fun and welcoming host!! I met nice new folks in the cooking class and learned about Sri Lankan cooking. (Yum Yum) the chef shared the recipes with us, we kept those to bring back home for cooking with my own. I truly recommend this cooking class! It is a must experience!!!!!

Fantastic experience - We had booked this for our first full day in Sri Lanka and it got our holiday off to a fantastic start. We were given a very warm welcome from Nim and a tour of his wonderful house - modern, light and a pleasure to cook in. The atmosphere was very relaxed and, as the only two people on the course that morning, we felt as if we had our own private chef! The trip to the market was amazing and made even better by having Nim explaining as we went along - we certainly weren't aware of the huge variety of fruit and vegetables available. Nim's sense of humour made our preparation of coconuts and spices an experience we will never forget! The food that we cooked was delicious and varied. Nim emailed us the recipes later and we'll certainly be trying them out at home. Altogether an amazing experience that we would thoroughly recommend.

Traditional way to experience the local taste - Recently, we had an interest in cooking, so I ask my partner to join me in this cooking class. we were amazed because it is not a typical cooking class, it is more of traditional cooking. we enjoyed cooking on the traditional clay where we found the food more flavourful. market tour is fascinated experience we never had before, of course in a tuk tuk. The team was professional and experienced. must do activity when you are in sri lanka.

Cooking class - A good place to learn about sri lankan cusine. Host was approachable from the start of messaging him. Class was informative and fun. All promises were delivered upon. So all in all a good outcome for this cooking school. Market tour was fun as we played spot the vegetable etc which got us looking around and trying to interact.

Fun, Educational Cooking Activity! - We were in Colombo for work, but wanted to take time to do something unique to Sri Lanka while we were in town-- with only two day's notice, we were lucky to be able to get a booking to take Nim's market tour and cooking lesson! Nim also helped us arrange transport to and from his house, which was about a 30 minute drive from where we stayed in Colombo 03. The Villa is absolutely gorgeous-- clean, relaxed, and an amazing space for gatherings. There were only two of us for the class this time, but the space can very easily and comfortably take a group of up to 8. We enjoyed the local market tour; Nim took time to answer all our questions about how to choose the produce, and was able to teach us about loads of new fruits and veggies. He got us involved in the buying process, but also made sure we got the best produce, from the best stalls. We really loved all the photography opportunities at the market-- it's gorgeous! Back at the Villa, we had a menu of 7 dishes-- but we decided while at the market to add one more-- a Jackfruit curry-- and Nim happily adapted and added it in for us! His team did a lot of the basic prep to help move things along, and we learned tons of new cooking techniques, and how to create various curry mixes with variations. Not only will I recommend Nim's cooking class to any friends visiting Sri Lanka, but my husband and I also hope to return so we can take the class again!
