Discover the hidden treasures of the island paradise, Sri Lanka, with an experienced driver/guide while traveling in your own private luxury vehicle. This package allows you to create a custom itinerary and explore Sri Lanka your way, with the assistance of your personal destination expert. We offer booking options ranging from Single Day Packages to 20-Day Packages.
You will be provided with a specific mileage allowance (please refer to the booking options for mileage allocations for each booking). The mileage calculation begins on your first day when we pick you up from the Airport, Colombo, or Negombo. Any excess mileage will be billed at the rate of USD 0.35 per KM for car bookings, USD 0.45 per KM for small van bookings, and USD 0.85 per KM for large van bookings, which can accommodate 1 to 8 adults with baggage.

Road trip - I had Merganser set up a road trip for me with a driver going from Tangalle into the mountains to Kandy and Ella and then back to Colombo. Their service level was excellent, always easy to communication with, the trip safe and well executed but still with lots of flexibility. Would definitely arrange a trip with them again.

The best! - We couldn't have asked for anything more. Henry was waiting for us at the airport and from that moment onwards he was there to ensure our holiday was everything we had hoped for and more. The car was roomy and comfortable, Henry was always on time and had arranged for good guides everywhere we needed them to ensure we got the most out of every visit. He stopped at roadside stalls and encouraged us to try fruits that were new to us. He was informative but by the same token he also recocognised those times when we were tired and wanted to sleep or just sit and take in the scenery as we passed. Henry went out of his way for us and he obviously wanted us to have a great holiday. The moment I mentioned that we hadn't seen elephants on our safari, Henry made it a priority that we saw plenty of them over the following couple of days. He was so patient. He seemed to easily accommodate any changes we wanted to make to our plans enroute.
Everything was organised to perfection and was seamless, from start to finish....and we had a busy itinerary!
I have no hesitation in recommending Merganser, Henry made our holiday a huge success.

Sri Lanka ,with a driver who works to give you a great experiance of this beautiful island nation. - We were very happy with our driver. We felt safe with Nihalls driving. Nihall listened to what we wanted to do and tried to give us the opportunity to see and do the things we were interested in.He was always polite,friendly ,punctual and professional. We felt we had someone who was looking out for our best interests. Nihall listened to our questions and was able to give us well informed information on the history,biodiversity, culture, food and religons of Sri Lanka.
We were thankful to have Nihall as our driver.

4 Days Trip in Sri Lanka - We had an excellent Private Car Charter experience with Chris (nickname) in late December 24, from start to finish. He was very punctual - waiting for us in our hotel lobby, ensured we visited all the spots we had originally asked to see, and took us to some of his own recommendations, which was a highlight of our 4 days in Sir Lanka (Colombo, Sigiriya Rock and Kandy). He’s an excellent driver, we felt very safe in his car and enjoyed how chatty and friendly he was! He’s also a great photographer and took some photos without asking us that will be great memories for us. I would 100% recommend booking this private charter! Thank you, Chris for providing us with a great day exploring Sri Lanka.

Fantastic service - Henry was a fantastic driver to have, knowing all the spots to visit and giving great recommendations for our honeymoon. He went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience in Sri Lanka and make our 2 week stay smooth sailing throughout. An example of him going the extra mile was when he was willing to drive back to pick up our passports on our behalf which we had left at our previous hotel, a 3 hour journey for him. It was a pleasure to have him guiding us.

Road Tour of Sri Lanka - We really enjoyed our time with our driver, Henry and the service was exceptional. He collected us from Colombo airport and took us to our hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights before commencing our 11-day tour. At the sites where a guide was needed, this was arranged by Merganser on our behalf. We found Henry to be affable and friendly and he took us to restaurants and spas that were safe and hygienic. Our overall experience from start to finish was outstanding. Thank you!

Unforgettable tour with our whole family - A one-off unforgettable tour with our whole family, that was the goal.Â
We mapped out our route ourselves and chose some hotels. Henry from Merganser Holidays looked at our itinerary and gave some clues for other choice of hotels and Things to do, after which the trip could be completely recorded.
Arriving in Sri Lanka Henry and our Guide Athula welcomed us with a warm welcome. This was the start of our fantastic trip through Sri Lanka. During these 20 days we got to know Athula as a Guide, with a lot of knowledge about Sri Lanka, but mainly got to know him as a warm, sweet and caring man. Athula is in our hearts forever.Â
Sri Lanka, saying it is the pearl of the Indian Ocean, is certainly not an exaggeration! You will find beach, green landscapes, jungle, elephants, but also culture, temples good food and certainly not forgetting the super friendly people.Â
As a family trip definitely recommended and all absolutely with a Guide / driver like our Athula!

Multi day car hire with driver/guide - For our holiday in Sri Lanka we booked a car with a driver for 22 days with Merganser Holidays. We had a very good experience. The contact and planning of the trip with the company went smoothly. Based on the places we wanted to visit, we were provided with a day-to-day itinerary. Sir Henry Lionel drove very safely while also telling a lot of interesting information about the country. He is reliable and punctual. Things like safaris or transport to Horton Plains were also arranged by him, which ensures that you can relax during your holiday without having to arrange too much. The car is clean and well maintained. The price is fixed, and there are no hidden costs. We would highly recommend this company for anyone looking to hire a car with a driver for their Sri Lanka holiday.
