- Bigfoot Crossing Sign - At this point in the tour, a sign has been placed “for your safety” as some of the most credible signings of Bigfoot have taken place near the area. Our tour almost always guarantees a sighting and of course, a photo with him!
- Crystal Creek Reservoir - The Crystal Creek Reservoir features the first full look at the entire Pikes Peak mountain set against the body of water. The tour drives directly over the dam of this reservoir which also offers a gift shop, restrooms, and informative plaques for reading about local wildlife and history.
- Historic Glen Cove Inn 11,450 ft - The historic Glen Cove Inn is an old ski lodge building which sits just under the timber line along the Pikes Peak Highway. At Glen Cove, you can expect to see the first striking view of the bald top of the mountain, highlighted by snow, most of the year. Also at Glen Cove are the Brake Check station, a gift shop, and restrooms.
- Devils Playground - Once the tour reaches the top of the Switchbacks, we see the rock formation and area known as Devil’s Playground. We don’t want to spoil the surprise by telling you how it got the name!
- Bottomless Pit - The Bottomless Pit is as you would expect! Just below the summit of Pikes Peak, the highway nears a steep cliff you can view from the very edge of the road and look down and out across and expansive scene. This location is a favorite for family photos!
- Pikes Peak Center - The Summit House on top of Pikes Peak is a gorgeous, state of the art visitors center. In the Summit House, you can try the famous high-altitude doughnuts, learn about the history of the Peak with the exhibit, get your goodies in the gift shop, and experience work-class views throughout eh giant windows facing toward the east. Outside of the Summit House, you can walk around the Peak and experience 360 degree views that stretch all the way into Kansas and New Mexico. Join us on an unrushed and comprehensive journey of Pikes Peak, led by our capable, friendly and knowledgeable tour guides. Learn interesting trivia and listen to captivating stories throughout the trip from the comfort of our spacious passenger vans. We ensure multiple halts on the Pikes Peak Highway at various picturesque points and structures en route to the 14,115 ft high summit. We can also accommodate requests for additional stops for photograph sessions, wildlife observation, and rest breaks.
However, keep in mind that reaching the Pikes Peak summit can’t always be guaranteed! Factors such as snow, road ice, powerful wind gusts, reduced visibility, amongst others, determine the accessibility of the Pikes Peak Highway at any given time. The tour will advance as far as safety allows. If the summit is inaccessible (a common occurrence from November to April), we will include visits to the Garden of the Gods, Gold Camp Road, or Cheyenne Canyon in the tour.
