• Como - I’ll meet you at the Como pier at the Lario bar, where our incredible adventure will begin.
• Life Electric - We’ll pass the breakwater to see Life Electric, an installation by Daniel Libeskind. Then, we’ll continue past the seaplane hangar and head north towards Villa Olmo.
• Villa Olmo - We’ll pass by Villa Olmo, a neoclassical villa in Como (1797) designed by architect Simone Cantoni. This impressive structure was commissioned by the Odescalchi marquises of Fino Mornasco and is depicted in an 1838 painting by Giuseppe Bisi.
• Villa Erba - Heading north along the western shore, we’ll admire Villa Erba, one of Lake Como’s most significant villas. Built between 1894 and 1898 by architects Angelo Savoldi and Giovan Battista Borsani for Luigi Erba, brother and heir of pharmaceutical magnate Carlo Erba, this two-story villa is designed in Alessian mannerist style. Today, it hosts international trade fairs, conferences, and events.
• Cernobbio - We’ll pass Tavernola and Cernobbio, appreciating Villa Erba and the luxurious Villa d’Este hotel, where the Obamas and George Clooney stayed in 2019. We’ll then reach Punta Pizzo, home to Villa Le Fontanelle, once owned by Gianni Versace. Inside, there’s an octagonal church available for private weddings at €15,000 per hour.
• Moltrasio - Continuing up the western shore, we’ll pass Moltrasio Carate Urio and reach Laglio, home to the famous Villa Oleandra, George Clooney’s residence.
• Laglio - In Laglio, we’ll see some of the most beautiful and elegant villas, including George Clooney’s summer home, Villa Oleandra.
• Argegno - We’ll pass through the village of Argegno on our way to Isola Comacina.
• Isola Comacina - We’ll arrive at Comacina Island, the only island on Lake Como. For those interested, there’s a safe swimming canal between the island and the eastern coast. The island is known for its fireworks commemorating the ancient fire of June 24, 1169.
• Orrido Di Nesso - Continuing along the coast, we’ll reach Orrido di Nesso and the Roman bridge. We’ll cross the lake to see the Nesso ravine, a natural waterfall between steep gorges, and the 2000-year-old Civera bridge, a popular spot for social media-worthy jumps.
• Torno - Following the coast, we’ll reach Villa Pliniana, known for its ghost legends, and then visit the recently renovated Grand Hotel “Il Sereno” by the Victoria’s Secret San Bart Group.
• Blevio - We’ll pass the Mandarin Oriental and Villa Troubetzkoy before finally returning to Como for drop-off.
