After 20 years of resistance and 9 years of international legal battles, the new mining project was halted, and Rosia Montana was added to the UNESCO heritage list in 2021. Stroll through the village to admire historical buildings now poised for restoration. Hike to appreciate the ancient mining cultural landscape, scenic beauty, and nature reserves, and join the many who celebrate this victory.
