Best decision you'll make on lake Titicaca - You could put this trip together in your own, but don't. Titicaca Tours take care of everything, all the guesswork, the uncertainty of cross border travel, the stress so that all you have to do is enjoy. Worst case happened for me and a notoriously fickle border decided they one of my documents wasn't robust enough. TT got my message and within minutes had a guide there to take care of the issue, escort me through and get me back on track with the tour. If it had been just me, no Isla del Sol. Super nice, communicative, thoughtful and competent. Book them. I'm so glad I did

Beautiful views and amazing tour guides - I recommend this tour from Puno to Copacabana-Isla del Sol. Pick up was by a private driver in Puno, not a tour van, at my Airbnb (very nice driver, I also hired him to take me to the airport next day). He took me to the bus station where he guided me to the ticket counter and then made sure I got into the bus. The bus ride was about two hours. If American, make sure you have your visa documents ready as you will be asked to apply for a visa in Bolivia. To exit Peru you will need to fill out a form. I was greeted by two local your guides in Bolivia. I was not aware that my guides in Bolivia were going to be different from the person I spoke to in Puno; this generated confusion on my part given the lack and last minute communication. However, once they all cleared out who they were, it was fine and I enjoyed my tour very much. I did suggest to all those involved that instructions and communication ahead of time is important to avoid misunderstandings like the one we had. Once in Bolivia I was taken to a local tour of the Cathedral, then lunch and there were options with delicious food, and finally our boat ride to Isla del Sol. The boat ride was about an hour. The hike at Isla del Sol was easy, fun, informative and the views were amazing. The island is run by locals and so the experience was immersive. Then back to the boat for another hour, straight to the bus that takes you to Copacabana, then back to the border where you have to go through Peruvian migration again for admission (this took about an hour) and then the ride back to Puno which was about two and a half hours. Overall, the trip was about 12 hours. Totally worth it and easy.
