Highlights
  • Corcovado - Christ the Redeemer - We visit to Corcovado Mountain and the Christ the Redeemer statue going through the Paineiras route. The 20-minute drive to the base of the statue takes you through the Tijuca Forest and gives you a preview of the landscapes ahead. The statue stands 710 meters tall and from this vantage point, you’ll have sweeping views of the city.
  • Sugarloaf Mountain - The cable car ride to the top of the mountain is done in 2 stages: begin at the boarding station to Urca Mountain (224 meters) and then from Urca Mountain to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain (395 meters).
  • Morro da Urca - The first step to reach the Sugarloaf.
  • Praia Vermelha - Located between the Sugarloaf Mountain and the Urca Mountain, the Praia Vermelha is a charming place.
  • Escadaria Selaron - Located in Santa Teresa, the Selarón Steps are famous for its bright and colourfull tiles.
  • The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian - The modern archtecture is very different from the traditional cathedrals we see out there. Enjoy the beautiful stained glasses and try to guess the biblical passages they got their inspiration from.
  • Maracana - Football - or soccer, if you prefer - is part of the Brazilian life. We love to watch the games and share experiences with complete strangers that get together for one purpose: support their team on the field. The Maracanã Stadium is considered our temple and a sacred place for those who enjoy a great game. We can take pictures outside of the Stadium and share stories about our favorite matches.
  • Sambodromo da Marques de Sapucai - See the Carnival temple, the place where the magic happens. The Sambadrome opens only during carnival time.

Rio city tour - Amazing experience! The location and scenery were absolutely breathtaking. We also had a great meal at the buffet for lunch. That said, what made the experience truly outstanding was our guide, Monica. Her expertise, passion for tourism, kindness, professionalism, sense of humor, and helpful tips about places that might get a bit crowded really made all the difference. I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing experience!!!! - Monica, was pleasant, polite, caring and knowledgeable. She went the extra mile, far and beyond as a tour guide to ensure everyone was fine. I was intrigued by how fluent she is in several languages, multilingual. She was always there when we needed to take photos, tell us the good spot to take photos, lending hands, and she made our experience in Rio very memorable. She was AMAZING!! Our driver Janel was also pleasant and drove smoothly. The journey was enjoyable and stress free.

Okay tour but not great - Traveling solo, it was easiest to book this tour of major sites. Distance between downtown and the two popular sites of Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer warrants someone taking care of transportation and tickets. The stops at the front of a football stadium and by the gates of Sambodromo are unnecessary as views from the hills are better in showing size and scope. Lunch was good but water not included. After booking I was told to go to a different pickup point and then notified of an earlier pickup just 20 minutes in advance. Small group included 16 people.

It wasn't such a good experience - I feel that the organization could have been better, unfortunately we lost a lot of time waiting for other people who were also on the tour making us have to go through each Attraction very quickly and also that we could not see the tourist places scheduled in the afternoon completely, there was already a lot of traffic and it was getting darker the day. Attention should be given to those who meet the arrival schedule, I did not think it was so worth the investment. What I would highlight is that for Christ and sugar bread you line up less for going on a tour.
