Review by Rosalie - The guide was very informative, friendly and spoke English as well as 2 other languages, at each stop Sandra checked on all group. There were only about 24 people in the group which was not too big. The attractions we went to were just what we expected and the lunch was great. The views were amazing and we were able to take lots of photos.

João Verano - guide to go with. Opt for a full day trip - I was on a tour with Joao Verano. It was a fantastic tour. We were a small group of 4 (me solo and other 3 guys). Joao picked me up from the hotel, he texted me the time he’ll come and he was sharp on time. We drove everywhere with his car. I don’t know how this happened, but almost didn’t have any queues and he managed to build the route so the time will be optimized. I strongly recommend a full day trip vs short one. It’s def worth the money and time spent. Normally the tour is 8 hours, but Joao put all his souls into it and as a small group we had a relaxing adventure of almost 11 hours (including pick up and drop off time). The program describes best where we’ve been, so no need to go all over the details. It was simply amazing.

The tour guide was... - The tour guide was personable, smart, and ver helpful throughout the tour. There was an incident where a tourist was very late in their return from one of the stops, and the tour guide patiently waited for them only to be received with disrespect from the tourist. The tour guide kept his composure and never lost his professionalism. My husband and I admired that about him and were happy to have someone to live up to a standard of professionalism. The food, on the other hand, was generic and not very good. Be aware of this as to not get your expectations up. Other than that, I enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend.

A Wonderful Day in Rio! - We were picked up from our hotel without any problem. The minibus/passenger van was air-conditioned and comfortable. I think all seats were filled. The little stool they usually have to help short people like me get into the van had been damaged, but everyone helped me throughout the day to get in and out safely. Joao Verona is an absolutely wonderful guide. He is fluent in English and easily moved between English and Portuguese and Spanish to meet the language needs of all. He gave us so much interesting information about Brazil, Rio, and all the sites we visited. Plus, he has a great sense of humor. We were not able to take the train up to the Christ the Redeemer statue because of trees having fallen on the tracks and some electrical issues. Instead, we went up that last part in a park van. We had blue skies at the statue but could not see anything below us due to clouds. The lunch was delicious! I suggest that you look at photos of the Selaron steps before you go. You really cannot see much of the steps due to all the people, but it was still interesting. We did have great views from Sugarloaf, and it was fun riding the cable cars. The cathedral was fascinating! We passed by and learned about other places too, like the carnival Sambódromo, the stadium, and statues/memorials. Joao was attentive about my somewhat limited mobility. I was using walking sticks due to some back, hip, and foot issues. He made sure I got to the elevator at Christ the Redeemer and to accessible walkways in all places. I was also lucky in having so many warm and helpful people in our group. By the end of the day, we almost seemed like family.

Great experience!! - The ride was late but it’s usual there is a lot of traffic in Brazil. But the rest of the tour was great! We had enough time to take pictures and purchase souvenirs. The food was okay, but overall great experience. We didn’t need to worry to get to places and deal with traffic and parking. So well worth it to hire a company to do that for you and you just worry to enjoy and have a great experience. Totally recommended. We wanted to do a tour to both Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. This is a great tour to do that. If you are a person that likes to spend longer time in places then recommend to do separate tours.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poorly Organized and Overpriced - The trip was disappointing from the very beginning. I had to wait in the hotel lobby for 30 minutes with no way to contact the provider. There was zero communication, and it immediately felt unprofessional. At the train station, things got even worse. Our guide, Alexandro, told us he needed to buy the tickets on the spot and left without giving any instructions. While we waited, we noticed other tour guides continuously bringing their groups ahead of the queue, while we stood in line for nearly two hours with no explanation or priority. When the tour guide returned with our tickets, the boarding time was 1:00 p.m. Later, he changed his story, claiming the company had pre-purchased them due to the Easter holidays—completely contradicting what he had said earlier. It felt misleading and careless. Throughout the day, tour guide provided little to no guidance and kept disappearing. He had no visible sign or identifier, so it was hard to even spot him. The group was repeatedly left alone, confused. The info provided in English was very brief, while in Spanish and Portuguese, it was more thorough. There was also no priority access on the way back from Sugarloaf Mountain—we were again left in long lines. Lunch was another letdown. The buffet served some of the worst meat I’ve ever tasted, which was especially disappointing in Brazil, known for its excellent cuisine. To top it off, a single caipirinha cost 57 BRL—three to four times the price of the same drink at a restaurant in Copacabana. Overall, the tour was poorly organized, overpriced, and a huge disappointment. I would absolutely not recommend this experience.
