Politically Incorrect Private Highlights Walking Tour

Discover Copenhagen’s hidden tales on a private, politically incorrect walking tour. Laugh, learn, and explore the city’s quirky history in 90 minutes.

Duration: 1 hour, 30 minutes
Cancellation: 1 day learn more
Highlights
  • Hoejbro Plads - This is our starting point! Discover the rich origins of Copenhagen– and the key historical figures involved.
  • Nikolaj Kunsthal - It’s a church! But what kind of church?
In this stop you will learn about the great Copenhagen fires.
  • Stroeget - See where the longest pedestrian-only shopping street in the world is.*

*Not personally verified, but definitely in all of Denmark!

  • Copenhagen King’s Square - From this location, we will have a good view of some of the most beautiful buildings in the city. We will talk about the statue at its centre, and some of the buildings.
  • Magasin du Nord - See this French-inspired building. This is one of the biggest department stores in Denmark.
  • Hotel D’Angleterre - Where do the rich and famous stay when they’re in the city? Here’s your answer!
  • Royal Danish Theater (Kongelige Teater) - This is arguably one of the most impressive buildings in the square. Find out who the statues up front are!
  • Nyhavn - This harbour is the birthplace of many histories and stories! It’s more than a post card, but the buildings are definitely only worth looking at but not necessarily heading into them.
  • Amaliegade - Home to the embassies, even of one of our most dreadful foes.* This stop is about WWII and Denmark. We won’t spoil it for you in advance!

*Historically.

  • Changing of her Majesty’s guard at Amalienborg Castle - This is the square where the Royal residences are. There are changing of the guards every 2 hours, but if your tour starts at 11, we arrive just in time for the big one of the day at noon!
  • Frederiks Kirke (Marmorkirken) - The marble church! Probably the most beautiful one in all of Denmark. This is where we end the tour, although there may be some variation between each guide. All ending points are a 5 minute walk away from here.

Come get dazzled on Denmark’s #1 rated walking tour.
Denmark may appear to have only one season (dreary!), but we can put a spring in your step!
Learn the politically incorrect, yet factual stories of the city and laugh, while walking the streets that those stories were made on. In 90 minutes you will walk the same cobblestoned streets as Hans Christian Andersen, hear stories about historic Denmark and quirky anecdotes about Copenhagen today.
There’ll be a little bit of lore and a little bit of gore, and tales of princes and perversions, gratification and tax equations.
Learn everything you need to know – and just as importantly, what to avoid!

The tour ends a 15-minute walk from the Little Mermaid statue.

Ed Sheeran in Denmark - Ed Sheeran gave a very humorous tour. We got a great overview of Copenhagen and would definitely recommend other tourists to give this a try at the beginning of your trip.

A nice experience to try - We had a great time, funny, interesting, and full of anecdotes, each more fascinating than the last. In addition it is a free tour, but if you wish you can participate by tipping the amount you want. Thanks to Martin for this great guided tour.

Great Tour - We had Martin (the tall carrot) and he was actually pretty funny. History and recommendations sprinkled with inappropriate jokes. This tour is for you if you enjoy a good roast.
