Highlights

Our rendezvous point is the Konstantinoupolis hotel. From here, we’ll stroll through the lanes of the historical heart and landmarks until we arrive at Corfu’s vibrant fruit & fish market. We’ll purchase fresh organic produce, freshly picked from Corfian fields, observe the local vendors peddling their merchandises, and immerse in the aroma of fresh vegetables, fruits, fish and herbs! You won’t want to miss out on tasting the AUTHENTIC feta cheese! After our marketplace adventure, you’ll drive your car (we can provide transport at an additional cost, should you not have one) to our villa, 20km distant, where you’ll acquire knowledge on how to create and cook classic Greek dishes. A reception of regional treats will start our “hands on” lunch preparation. Before lunchtime, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the ruins of our family’s two-century-old olive press, nestled in our olive grove, and sample some olive oil - the perfect appetite stimulator for a sumptuous lunch! We welcome you to our home as if you were family and for a few hours of tranquility. It’s a rare opportunity to try a nourishing meal cooked in a wood-fired oven, employing a centuries-old method, the same way our grandmothers used to cook. Lunch in the Olive Grove - After a walking tour of the town, we went to our hosts’ beautiful villa to help prepare a wonderful meal. This was a small group of 5 people. We all participated in the preparation of our meal of Greek Salad, Tzatziki sauce, Greek Potatoes and Walnut/brown sugar stuffed apples. Our host had already marinated and placed in his wood oven the Pork Knuckles as the main course of the meal. After lunch we had a relaxing walk in the olive grove, learned how olives are cultivated into olive oil and saw a 100’s year old olive press. The setting is absolutely pastoral and the wine was flowing.

Favorite excursion of my trip - George picked us up right from the cruise terminal and took us shopping in a local market to pick ingredients for a meal. We drove about 30 minutes to his gorgeous house overlooking the mountains and countryside. We cooked a lovely meal in his outdoor kitchen and shared lots of smiles and laughs. Highly recommend, everyone should book this excursion!

Informative, friendly and delicious - We thoroughly enjoyed the day with George and his team. George made everyone in the group feel relaxed and at home. We started in the old part of Corfu where George provided us with lots of information about the history of the city and the cultures of the families who live and work there. We shopped for our lunch ingredients in the local market then made our way to George's lovely family home to prepare and eat the meal. Everyone gets involved and George makes sure no-one is left out. We'd be happy to recommend this tour and would go back for a walking tour next time we're in Corfu.

A private cooking class with George - George is by far the best guide I have ever come across in all of my travels. If you are thinking of traveling to Corfu, it would be a loss not to spend a day with George. My family are all in agreement that this excursion was the pinnacle of our vacation in Corfu. George is smart, funny and a great cook.

Fun Cooking Class at a beautiful Villa - On our trip through Italy and ending on Corfu, we took 4 cooking classes and this was one of the best ones! You start by walking through and buying fresh produce at Corfu’s oldest public market. You buy your bread and cheese at local shops before getting in the car and going to the instructor’s villa to cook your lunch. Our instructor, Yorgos, was with us the whole time and was fantastic. The food was fantastic. We made a fresh Greek salad, tzatziki, the Greek version of ratatouille, as well was a very tender pork Knuckle. Our guide gave us a tour of his old olive press on the property (he makes his own olive oil), and of his own garden. His property is beautiful and he’s so friendly and a great cooking instructor. It’s a lot of food, so prepare to have a light and/or late dinner that night. Thanks for a great experience!

Making memories on Corfu! - This was an absolutely wonderful cultural experience and not only do you get some history of Corfu, but a walking tour of Corfu town along with getting the ingredients for the cooking class! Yorgos is a wonderful guide and what makes this extra special is the cooking is at is home so it was very special cooking, and having fun with the other guests! The food was amazing and there was plenty! I highly recommend this tour while visiting Corfu!!

Friendly host and great food but not cooking class - Our host for this experience was lovely and friendly. Very knowledgeable about Corfu and took us to parts of town we hadn't been to before. We went to the market to buy minimal veggies but nice to see all the fresh fish. We then went to the hosts beautiful home just outside Corfu town which was a great spot. The host was very welcoming and the food was delicious but we didn't cook anything, which I was expecting from a cooking class. We peeled some veg, made a salad between the 8 of us, and watched the host make tzatziki. It was interesting to watch and really great food, but just not sure this should be advertised as a cooking class. I would still recommend this as a great experience but just don't expect to be cooking.
