• Paleokastritsa - Paleokastritsa is arguably the most renowned picturesque village on the island of Corfu, located 25 km northwest of Corfu Town. The name Paleokastritsa means “old little castle,” named after Angelokastro, a Byzantine castle perched on a hill above the village. This cosmopolitan resort extends along a coastal road, featuring stunning bays and a charming harbor where excursion boats depart for nearby secluded beaches. At the road’s end, just past the main harbor, is the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, which overlooks the village and houses an intriguing collection of post-Byzantine icons, books, and other artifacts, including precious 15th-century icons.
