Highlights
  • Oliver Plunkett Street - Oliver Plunkett Street is the longest street and the most-trafficked shopping district in Cork. Here we’ll visit our first shop along with checking out various other shops in the area.
  • The English Market - One of the oldest and certainly the best covered market in Europe, it has survived famine, flood, war, fires, and multiple recessions to remain a strong part of Cork’s retail environment. In the English Market, we’ll provide a brief overview along with highlighting some of our favorite shops in the market. We recommend coming back after the tour to spend more time here.
  • Bishop Lucey Park - Bishop Lucey Park is a public park located between Grand Parade and South Main Street in the centre of Cork in Ireland. It is one of few green spaces in the city centre and among the largest.
  • National Monument - Early Irish Gothic national monument commemorating the rebellions, unveiled in 1906. We’ll give a brief history of this monument and how it relates to the history of Cork.
  • Rory Gallagher Memorial Sculpture - Honorary bronze statue of the renowned native rock & blues guitarist in a plaza dedicated to him. You’re welcome to take some photos with Rory while we tell you a bit about him and his relationship to Cork.
  • Crawford Art Gallery - Known informally as the Crawford, it was designated a ‘National Cultural Institution’ in 2006. We’ll briefly walk past and provide some history around the gallery and why we think it’s important to the history of Cork.
  • Emmett Place - We’ll stop by Emmet Place to see the Christmas market
