Highlights
  • Oliver Plunkett Street - Oliver Plunkett Street is the longest street and the most-trafficked shopping district in Cork. Here we’ll visit our first shop along with checking out various other shops in the area.
  • The English Market - One of the oldest and certainly the best covered market in Europe, it has survived famine, flood, war, fires, and multiple recessions to remain a strong part of Cork’s retail environment. In the English Market, we’ll provide a brief overview along with highlighting some of our favorite shops in the market. We recommend coming back after the tour to spend more time here.
  • Bishop Lucey Park - Bishop Lucey Park is a public park located between Grand Parade and South Main Street in the centre of Cork in Ireland. It is one of few green spaces in the city centre and among the largest.
  • National Monument - Early Irish Gothic national monument commemorating the rebellions, unveiled in 1906. We’ll give a brief history of this monument and how it relates to the history of Cork.
  • Rory Gallagher Memorial Sculpture - Honorary bronze statue of the renowned native rock & blues guitarist in a plaza dedicated to him. You’re welcome to take some photos with Rory while we tell you a bit about him and his relationship to Cork.
  • Crawford Art Gallery - Known informally as the Crawford, it was designated a ‘National Cultural Institution’ in 2006. We’ll briefly walk past and provide some history around the gallery and why we think it’s important to the history of Cork.

Wonderful Morning in Cork - We had a wonderful morning with Paddy on the Cork Donut Tour! This lovely tour includes four stops around the historic area of Cork, and lots of great history and stories shared by the guide in between. It was a really fun way to get introduced to the city, learn some Irish history and of course sample some delicious donuts! Would highly recommend!

Interesting and tasty tour - We had a great time on this tour recently, Mary Sol was our guide, she was brilliant. The tour was really interesting and all the treats we got to sample were amazing. Our favourite stop was the donut shop where got to choose any donut we fancied, can highly recommend the lemon meringue and the pistachio donuts. However, everything we had was super tasty! I would absolutely recommend this tour, book it now!

Unique, historic and delicious. - When traveling I love to look for tours that are unique and interesting. We hit the jackpot with this tour. It is a walking tour around Cork with stops for some delicious pastry, croissants and amazing churros so you walk the calories right off. We were lucky to have Paddy as our guide and you can feel his love for Cork as he shared the history of this beautiful town. Definitely a must do tour. And yes Paddy we returned to the English market and the sausage sandwich was the best.

More than doughnuts. - Paddy did a great job. Showing us around Cork, giving us the history of Cork and the area. He gave great recommendations of where to eat and things to see and do with our remaining time in the Cork area. And of course the doughnuts were great.

Mary is the best! - Mary Sol was fantastic! Very friendly, informative and really kind. Our two person tour was fun even though our rental car ended up blocked in on one of the city center streets. We would never have made it out if Mary had not stayed behind to assist us. She went above and beyond even after such a great tour. The treats for awesome too!!

She took time with my handicapped parents and made sure all felt welcomed and included. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone and hope they get Chloe!

Not local guide, but lots of “donuts” - The amount of “donuts” was over the top, and we had enough left overs for breakfast the next day. It would have been nice if we would the guide would have been local as opposed to a Houston, Texas transplant. Her knowledge of Cork was good, but she did not have a historical perspective Ireland
