Great time, great gin! - We had a great time! Learned a lot about Cork city and the story behind their drinks. Bhagya was very welcoming and an excellent host. Looking forward to the day Maharani gin becomes available in England - it was delicious!!

Great experience whilst visiting Cork - It was a pleasure to meet the lovely Bhagya. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, our first gin distillery experience and the superb maharani gin. We wish Bhagya and her husband Robert all the very best in their business venture and hope to be able to purchase Maharani in the north very soon.

Personal distillery tour with one of the owners. - Unlike many distillery tours, this one was lent by one of the owners. Bhagya and her husband started this boutique distillery in an old Ford car factory in Cork city. They are currently making a gin with Indian botanicals. The tour starts with a complementary gin and tonic, and then a history of the distillery and then a tour and explanation of the distilling process. It ends with a very generous tasting. The host is wonderful, engaging, and really gets the group to engage with each other as well. I highly recommend this very personal distillery tour.

Excellent distillery tour! - Rebel distillery was such an excellent last minute addition to my time in Cork! Bhagya was such a great host and incredibly knowledgable. Her pride in Cork and enthusiasm for sharing the distillery process was so refreshing! They care about doing things the "right way" as part of the local community, while also supporting a women's spice co-op in Kerala, India. Seriously such a great experience and great people!

A brilliant afternoon ! - We visited the distillery on a cloudy but warm August day and were warmly welcomed into what was a former and historical Ford Electricity generator building, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, but retaining the buildings character and charm. Our host Bhagya had prepared 3 cocktails that all included one of the distillery’s product - Absinthe, a spirit with real history, and some very famous followers. Bhagya relayed many different stories about the spirit and its ingredients before taking us on a tour of the distillery and showing us how it was made. We were then introduced to one other of the Distillery’s core product - Maharani Gin - a fusion of Irish Gin distilling with Indian ingredients - but also a marriage made in heaven - so delicious (and a lovely story that goes with it) ! We spent 2 very happy hours on the tour, chasing fairies (a reference to the powers of Absinthe) and being enthralled by Bhagya’s relay of the Buildings’ historical past, the Distillery’s own more modern history and its products (with lots of tasting ) - I’d recommend you do the same !

Small and intimate - Small distillery so intimate tasting not too commercialized. I wouldn’t really call it a tour but a tasting. Loved this tour/sampling.

Awesome! - A nice tour at a small-scale distillery. We got an interesting and interactive explanation from one of the owners of Rebel City. Recommended to buy a bottle of gin afterwards as a souvenir. A great story behind their venture. Definitely a must see if you are in Cork!

An absolute must! - I’ve visited the distillery 3 times and I would go there over and over again. Rebel city distillery is a small family business founded and run by Robert (former distiller at The Shed distillery) and his lovely wife Bhagya. You’ll be welcomed by a very particular and unique environment and which expresses the whole essence of this distillery. The tour itself is doesn’t take long but Bhagya has found her own way of making it entertaining and unique and each time it was such a great experience. You’ll be rewarded with a tasting of their own spirits which includes their tasty Maharani (delicious to be drunk neat), their vodka and the one and only absinthe ever distilled in Ireland. Be sure to grab the bottles as you won’t find them easily around the country!
