- Escape Surf School Newquay - Perfect for beginners looking for an introduction to surfing, or if you’ve surfed a few times already, then ideal to improve and build on your current experience and skill!\n\nFor students on their first lesson we will introduce all of the skills and techniques necessary to surf with control and safety. \nIf you have already surfed, then we will use this session to build on more advanced techniques, including paddling, turning and reading the ocean.\n\nFor all abilities, we spend approximately 20 minutes on the beach discussing, technique, skills etc. then the remaining time is spent in the ocean catching waves, with hands-on coaching from our surf coaches. \nOur innovative teaching method for beginners which involves holding the tail of the board, whilst the surfer gets to their feet. This helps stabilise the board until the surfer is standing, then they release and you enjoy the amazing feeling of riding the surf!\nFor those who have already surfed, we will focus on improving your technique and catching more waves.\nWe always split the groups based on your ability, so if you have already surfed, then you will join an improver group.

The venue for our meet-up is the Escape Surf School, positioned in Newquay with a stunning view of Towan beach, within the premises of Belushis / St Christophers Inn.
- After booking, Escape Surf School will contact you with the start (meeting) time (this can vary depending upon tides and conditions)
- Subject to favourable surf conditions. If cancelled due to poor conditions (ie dangerous), you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund

Best time surfing - Used Escape a number of times, wanted a refresher to get us back into surfing, placed into a small group of similar ability surfers with our Instructor, Andrew. As usual, had a brilliant time in the hands of an amazing instructor who passed his knowledge onto us and helped us improve our surfing. Will use again for further improvement and would always recommend as the team at escape are the best.

Absolutely amazing! - We had the best time here. We got this as a gift for christmas off my parents and it definitely did not disappoint. The instructors were so lovely and explained everything so well. Will definitely be coming back here. A special thank you to our instructor Henry.

Great experience, great instructors, highly recommend - Amazing couple of hours! Great instructors, easy process, easy to find and close by the sea. Have to carry the boards yourself and walk to the beach and back which is only 5mins each way. Only issue was I would prefer to have a locker for valuables to be left in rather than just in the changing room. They take photos too to look at and buy afterwards. Overall highly recommended 😁

Excellent surfing lessons - Had an amazing time learning to surf with Henry! He's an excellent teacher who provided valuable advice. Overall, a fantastic experience - I'll definitely be returning for more lessons!

A great experience - This was a great experience and we both managed to stand up and surf thanks to the lovely instructors. We had two lessons with Pigeon and another with Jack, and aside from being lovely guys, were really good coaches- patient and encouraging. Thanks for helping me live a lifelong ambition 😃

All kit supplied and just a thoroughly brilliant time.
Totally knackered after 2 hours so the walk back up the hill carrying the board was a bit of a slog but I am in my 60’s… Best fun ever.

Amazing experience - It was our first attempt to try surfing and what an experience!!! The instructor was very helpful and explained well what we need to do and we did stand on the board with the waves, I did not believe I will to be honest. Recommend to everyone.

Brilliant experience - My first time surfing, was a little apprehensive at first and honestly didn’t think I’d get anywhere in just 2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised with how it went, actually managed to stand a few times so I was really happy. Our instructor, Andrew I think (sorry if that’s wrong) was brilliant, really cool guy, really helpful and supportive and a brilliant instructor, made the seemingly difficult and confusing sport of surfing seem quite simple and that enabled all of us to do quite well thanks to his guidance. The surf school is based on Towan beach, which is beautiful, lovely sandy beach, beautiful water and the waves are perfect for surfing no matter your skill level. Super reasonable price as well, £40 for 2 hours and they supply everything! We will definitely be coming back as and when we visit Newquay again
