- Monumento Natural de Ajuy - Take a walk to the spectacular Ajuy caves, the oldest formations in the Canary Islands.
These caves are part of Fuerteventura’s basal complex, formed by submarine lava and sediment flows that surfaced and began forming the island 100 million years ago during the Cretaceous period.
The rocks emerged from a depth of 3,000 meters, creating the foundation that now supports this island and Lanzarote.
The caves hold significant geological and paleontological importance and are among the 150 primary geological sites worldwide.
Visiting them is like traveling back in time to the origins of Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands.

• The walk to Ajuy caves is a natural wonder. Declared a Natural Monument in 1987, they are part of Betancuria Rural Park.
