Additional Information

Across the Grand Harbour, to the south of Valletta, is the historical fortified town of Vittoriosa, easily reached by means of a ferry boat. Many historians refer to the area as the cradle of Maltese history offering shelter to who ever took over the Maltese Islands.

If ever there was a town which has escaped the ravages of development and succeeded in keeping its original character, Vittoriosa is the place.  Pretty and quaint alleys will not fail to delight you as you walk through the old town where the knights first settled when they came to Malta in 1530. The historic centre is characterised by winding streets, replete with buildings erected by the knights shortly after their arrival. Of particular beauty and historic value are the town’s intact Auberge de France and Auberge of England. Vittoriosa is also a harbour-town, its city walls offer spectacular views of the Grand Harbour as well as of Valletta.

Informative, highly enjoyable and recommended tour of the Three Cities - Our guide had all the relevant and interesting facts about the Three Cities and was very pleasant company. (In fact, earlier this year, we were lucky enough to take the Valetta tour with the same person). As well as the overall global events that shaped Malta's history, our guide provided insights into the day-to-day life of the cross-section of people living in the Three Cities - from around the 16th century to the present day.

Beautiful Walk - Having spent a few years living in Malta as a child, it always feels like coming home when I visit. Having said that, I learnt so much on this walking tour and found myself falling in love with Malta and the culture even more. Our guide was brilliant - so friendly, and very knowledgeable. Cannot recommend this tour company enough.

Great walking tour with local lady. - These lovely ladies have joined together to form their own little business to take small groups on various tours around Malta. Great local insight, history and views, well worth the fee.

The three cyties are great! - We visited Valetta twice during our stay at Gozo. The second time we took the Vittoriosa walk which provides a great view on the history of the Three cities and most of all Birgu. The locals are doing a great job making the place beautifull and clean. The guide had great knowledge of the history especially the period of the knight in Malta but also explained a lot about the current situation of the place. After the tour we took an olf fishersman boat to Senlea and had a great lunch at Tas-Serena Cafe' & Restaurant.

Excellent walking tour full of interest and history - We took the Sunday morning tour of Vittoriosa with Nadine and it was well worth while. Informative, varied and fascinating. Excellent value for money too. Most of the tour was in the shade, and many aspects of the tour were pointed out for us to come back to- so much more to see and do in Vittoriosa. Nadine was an excellent guide and extremely knowledge not only about the tour but about other local questions we three at it. Thoroughly recommend this walking tour to others.

Vittoriosa city walk - During a week long stay in Malta, our party of 4 did this and another of the city Walking Tours, tours (M’dina). Both tours were excellent. Our guide for both was Visnja, who provided an excellent narrative covering history, architecture and social commentary. The tours included some of the lesser known tourist tracks, which we particularly liked, but the expected highlights were covered too. I would recommend these tours to anyone who wants to take a good look at this most interesting destination.

Excellent tour of an area we wouldn't have seen - We stayed in Valletta a week and had time to see different parts of the island, but in the end saw more of the Valletta area as it is so scenic and easy to get to and around. We would not have gone into the Vittoriosa area unless Angela had taken us on this tour. It was fascinating as the area is historic and still in the process of being gentrified. Lots of winding streets full of history and lovely houses. Angela was able to bring the place alive with her stories of how it has changed and is still changing. We loved it
