Embark on a 2-hour exhilarating eco-adventure with our team of biologists to respectfully observe whales and dolphins in the Teno-Rasca Marine Protected Area of Tenerife. Our boat is a specially designed 8-meter vessel with cushioned bench seats, accommodating only 11 guests.
These two-hour whale watching tours set sail at 9:30am, 12 noon, and 2:30pm from ‘Pantalan No3’ at the Puerto Colón Marina in southern Tenerife. This educational eco-adventure offers the chance to listen to whales and dolphins using our hydrophone, includes photos of the marine wildlife, and comes with our Sightings Guarantee. - Confirmation is automatic - if we must reschedule (bad weather, not enough guests) we will call you to arrange an alternative.

Meet our Guides at the blue gated ENTRANCE to Dock/Pantalan/ GATE 3 in the Puerto Colòn Marina 15 minutes before departure time. We do not have an office. In respect to all of our guests the boat leaves on time. Guests that are late do not receive a refund. You DO NOT need to print the ticket.

Fun and educational - Really good experience and educational as well. John was knowledgeable and patient and it's been a pleasure to have him as a skipper. Thank you very much for a great day - we saw thr Pilot Whales, Bottlenose Dolphins and a gorgeous turtle as a bonus :)
P.S. My daughter and I loved how John stopped the speeding boat to fish a tiny plastic bottle out of the ocean - really good example for the kids on the boat!

Fantastic experience. - If you want to go whale watching whilst in Tenerife, these are the people to go with. Booking was straightforward and we were contacted beforehand with instructions that were easy to follow. Ion was our guide and he was knowledgeable, friendly and fantastic with our kids (9 and 12 years). We headed out and managed to see rough-toothed dolphins and pilot whales very close, one swam under the boat. I was worried about such a small boat but it actually made the experience so much better, it was a small group and we got close to the animals in a responsible way. I can’t recommend this tour enough and will definitely use this company again if ever I’m back in the area. We got some lovely videos of whales near the boat but Tripadvisor doesn’t have the option to upload. Five stars from a very happy family.

Fantastic whale watching tour - Fantastic experience. Ion was a great skipper and guide. He was very attentive, provided lots of interesting information and patiently answered all our questions. The boat is very comfortable; a far cry from what you can get on big, crowded boats. And we were lucky enough to see lots of pilot whales and dolphins! I definitely recommend this tour, 100%. Thanks a lot!

This is a totally wonderful way to get up close to pilot whales in their natural environment - This was an unforgettable experience! To be surrounded by pilot whales and just drift in amongst them and see them poke up their noses to look at us was amazing.
Our guide John the RIB boat driver was a biologist with a real passion for these wonderful creatures. He chatted to us about the pilot whales, their family groupings and their main food. He was careful not to disturb the pilot whales. He took us to a respectful distance, cut the engine and the whales came to us. They were so close and one actually swan under our boat. We saw three different grouping in different locations.
There were 8 people in total on this 2 hour trip, the maximum is 10. My wife and I deliberately chose a smaller boat and a more scientifically oriented trip rather than a bigger boat and a bigger crowd. We paid more for our smaller boat trip but it was absolutely worth it. It was a wonderful experience.
Our only caveat is that a rib (rigid inflatable boat) does bounce you around a lot on the trip out and back, but we found the speed exhilarating.
We can totally recommend this awesome experience.

Sustainable experience - Our whale watching tour with John from Costa Adeje was just great! Three of us enjoyed two hours at sea and were lucky enough to see pilot whales in their natural environment – an absolutely fascinating experience. John not only taught us about the marine life and conservation, but also talked openly about things that aren't going so well on the ground. In addition, he always paid attention to the well-being of the participants, which made the tour particularly pleasant. If you are looking for a sustainable, educational experience in Tenerife, you are in the right place!

The best trip from the ones we made here. - Super friendly on time extremely sympathetic so it really doesn't get any better. In addition, absolutely professional in terms of the animals I can only recommend this operator was really worth his money.

Whale-y great tour - We had a great tour with John who was very knowledgeable, honest, and happy to share his expertise about the wildlife and the marine reserve. He made sure everyone was comfortable and we saw many pilot whales up close and some bottlenose dolphins from afar.

Great tour with marine biologist John! - It was a great tour with marine biologist John on his small comfortable boat. John is very personable, competent and respectful, he gave us a lot of interesting information and we have seen numerous pilot whales.
Also our children (7 and 9 years old) felt very comfortable and watched the pilot whales enthusiastically.
We can only recommend this tour on John’s boat.

Magical, if you care about the world, take this trip. - Incredible. This isn't an 'activity' it's a memory you'll never forget. Such a privilege to experience and be part of these beautiful creatures in their habitat, as a visitor. We were welcomed, despite how we treat their world.

10/10 - We were really keen to do some wildlife spotting but in a responsible way where the animals were free and not disturbed. Through some googling we came across this company and booked our trip with high hopes. We were not dissapointed, Ion was friendly and very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot, as well as seeing lots of whales which was a once in a lifetime experience! I would thoroughly reccomend Ion and Whale Watch Tenerife!
