It hosts the largest concentration of crocodiles and aquatic birds in Costa Rica, with approximately 200 bird species, including egrets, herons, hawks, eagles, and more. Bird-watching enthusiasts are encouraged to book early morning tours departing from hotels.
Visitors can enjoy a 1.5-hour panga-style boat ride, which is covered to provide shade or protection from rain.
