Didn’t get the trip we paid for - We didn’t get the trip we paid for and instead of being on a river boat, like the photos, we were in a dingy and paddled down the river. We never went to the wildlife reserve indicated. We did have a really great lunch at the end and a great tour guide, David.

Amazing experience. The guide was... - <p>Amazing experience. The guide was passionate about the area and was born/raised in the region. The boat ride down the river was interesting. We saw monkeys, birds, crocodiles, slath, and many plants. The stop in the rain forest restaurant was an experience in itself. He showed native plants to the rain forest and detailed what they were and several interesting facts. In the natural greenhouse we were able to see the dart frog and green spotted frogs. I would highly recommend this tour. The time frame was perfect and the guide was incredible.</p>

Mauricio was an excellent tour... - <p>Mauricio was an excellent tour guide. On the river cruise he and Pedro the boat operator found all sorts of wildlife. We even saw a baby monkey fall in the water and we turned the boat around. Mauricio reached in, grabbed it by the tail and saved it. We went up to the area where all the monkeys were and returned it to the tree. If<br/> Once we started to leave, we saw Mama go get her baby. An experience we won't soon forget.</p>

The boat ride and horseback riding is worth the money but make sure to book an activity as this is the only thing to do after the boat portion and they offer lockers.</p>

Crocodiles and toucans and big... - <p>Crocodiles and toucans and big butterflies and lots and lots of monkeys. The river was fantastic, as was the flora and the fauna. The tour would have been better if it had started and ended an hour earlier, so that we were not coming back to San Jose after nightfall.</p>

This was mainly a river cruise. I... - <p>This was mainly a river cruise. I feel that the the part about the private animal reserve was definitely overrated. It is a backyard with tropical plants, and one structure with a few tiny frogs. The other annoying part of this excursion was having to wait while others went on canopy adventure then having to wait for them to eat the meal, and there is nothing to do while waiting. I do not think this excursion was worth the price.</p>

The 300 letter limit prevents fair elaboration, but in summary: No activities, no serpentarium or butterfly garden, only one animal sanctuary, didn't enter the national park, mainly in Spanish</p>

Nice float trip poor tour agency practices. - This Tour agency NEEDS to change the picture that they are using for their tour. This is not a river safari in a boat as is shown but a river safari in a raft like class 1 and 2 river rafting. My older sister almost came with me and she is 79 years old and in no way could have done this trip. There were two of us on this tour not related and both of us believed that we were going to be in a boat like the one pictured in the Tour information. The other lady on my tour had a dress on and was no way prepared for a class 1 and 2 river rafting trip. The rafting trip was wonderful and the river guide was very very good and informative. I had this tour planned for the day before but no one ever showed up. The driver told the tour agencey that he was at my hotel at 7:30. The receptionist at the front desk whi I was sitting righ in front the whole time I was waiting to be picked up finally called the agency and they told her some kind of story that the driver came into reception to pick me up. This was not true because rhe receptionist and I were the only ones in the tiny reception area almost the whole time I was waiting. The tour agency offered to give me the tour the next day but I had to change another tour to their incompetence. I was told I was going to be picked up at 7:45 the next day and the driver did not come until 8:45. He only had to pick up 2 other groups one a single lady and a family of 4. He was late and I believe one time mire it was the drivers fault. When he did finally pick me up he spoke Spanish almost the whole time even when I asked him if he could please tell me and the other English Speaker what he was saying. He was rude and even made a very rude comment about me to the group of 4 that was not very nice. The tour explanation on Viator says the tour is offered in English. The tour has a lot of problems and I who have taken about 750 Viator tours around the world would recommend that you find the other tours offered on this river and take them. I do not need to waste a whole day of my vacation waiting for a tour agency that dies not show up at all one day and comes almost an hour late the next day. This agency is not dependable.
