Due to being an active volcano, the park has increased its security measures. At the volcano’s summit, you can find a visitor center with a cafeteria and souvenir shop.

Poás Volcano is currently closed due to increased activity. If it reopens by the tour date, it will be included in the itinerary. Otherwise, the tour will explore La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a must-visit wildlife refuge featuring waterfalls, jaguars, pumas, monkeys, toucans, and one of Costa Rica’s largest butterfly gardens.

- There are many options along the route to the volcano. Quick stops are made by the roadside to appreciate the scenery, animals, or waterfalls. There is also the option to make stops for food along the way to the volcano. At each of these stops, the customer decides how long they want to stay. Normally, the tour lasts between 4 and 6 hours, or longer if the customer has time and wants to visit more points of interest on our way to the volcano.
