5 stars - a MUST do! - Our day trip was the perfect break to city life in Dublin! David, our guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. The stops along the way were so pretty. And the towns of Blarney and Cobh were breathtaking. Blarney Castle was really cool - a chance for some fun pictures! Might be challenging for some older folks or even littles to get to the top. And we didn’t know you have to hang upside down to kiss the stone - very cool! There seem to be a lot of reviews about the lack of food throughout the day so we packed snacks. But that was unnecessary as there was plenty of options at the train station in Dublin and in Cork, as well as restaurant options for lunch in Blarney. Bring a deck of cards for the train and a portable charger as you’ll be taking a ton of pictures. One train had USB charging ports and the other needed a converter. And dress in layers as the day started off pretty cold but ended up being so nice by the afternoon. 10/10 would recommend this as a must for your agenda!!

A long but very enjoyable day - We were staying in Dublin for a few days - parents and two kids, 14 and 23 years old - and we wanted to see some country side. In Cork we walked straight to a bus, drove through town and left. We would have loved to see a bit more of Cork since we were already there. We didn't know anything about the Blarney stone and spending all that time just getting up to the top of the castle and not seeing much was not worth it. The line moves so slowly and the stairs are incredibly narrow. My kids found kissing the stone disgusting (the guys up there, who were helping people in the act, did have a bottle of disinfectant and a rag (!) but we never saw them using it) and did absolutely not want to do it. We thought that we would at least get a good view of the surroundings of the castle from the top but the walls around the roof are so high that you don't see a lot. There is much else to see in the castle though. (If you want to keep your spot in the line you should do the exploring on the way down.) There are information plaques and drawings in many of the different rooms and we found them all very interesting. The gardens around the castle are charming with many of the trees in full bloom and we enjoyed strolling the grounds once we got out again. Our guide, Ian, made an effort to get to know everyone in the group of ca 30 ppl a little bit, he kept everything in good order, he is very knowledgeable and really added valuable background information to the places we visited. The cathedral in Cóbh is impressive and beautiful and the view of the city's harbour from the church is breathtaking. The visit to the Cóbh Heritage Centre, last item on the itinerary, was time well spent. Loaded with well presented information and memorabilia it was the highlight of the day for my kids who had to be dragged out. We had some sun and some light rain that day - a lovely day all in all.

Wonderful Trip to the Countryside - Loved this tour. We were 4 of us from India and got to experience the Irish countryside. The tour was well organised and without any major delays..the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. They made it a point to talk and keep everyone engaged. Special mention to our guide whose name I think is John who was very funny ( John if you are reading this - it's summer time in Dublin during the Jazz festival ;) )

Underwhelmed but it was ok - It wasn't clear about departure time from Dublin, but we made the train, barely. Nice train ride. Blarney Castle was pretty, but didn't want to wait an hour to kiss anything. Walked around the gardens. You only pass through Cork in a bus, so you don't see much of the city. We were delayed with traffic, so we never got to see Cobh Cathedral on the inside. The museum in Cobh was ok and more about the Titanic and Lusitania.

AVOID this tour and company like the plague! - It was a HORRIBLE experience! From the moment our tour began, we were caught in delays, overcrowded buses with inept "guides," numerous blunders (losing cruise liner passengers that were part of our "group," which was NEVER advertised in the tour description) and delayed return to Dublin (11p instead of 7p as advertised). THE COMPANY & VIATOR WOULD NOT GIVE US A REFUND, DESPITE OUR HORRID EXPERIENCE AND OUR REPORT OF RUDE TREATMENT BY STAFF. Stay away from this company and Viator if you want to keep your sanity! This "tour" ruined our last few days in Dublin, and we will not use Viator ever again.
