Jose Luis was a great guide! - We had a great tour with Jose Luis! He was very nice and really tailored the tour to our interests and requests. He clearly did a lot of research and prep work before the tour and our contact with him pre-tour was very good.

Solo dublin tour - Patrick Johnston put together a last minute tour for me. We walked for two hours where he pointed out historic sites and provided historical commentary. I learned alot in a fun way. Patrick also pointed out where to eat ..his favorite places. He gave great tips to keep me save as a solo traveler.

Insightful and customized tour of Dublin that made us love the city - Cathy Whelan was our guide and she was fantastic. She knew the city so well, explained the layout and gave us such great history lessons. She was concerned with our likes and interests and adjusted to make the tour meaningful for us.

Memorable walk through Dublin - Dominic spent 4 hours walking through Dublin with us, sharing stories from Viking times to the Troubles. We visited all must-see sites and a couple of hidden gems including Bewley’s cafe where we sampled original Irish coffee, visited Trinity College and Christ church.

Dublin in a day highlights - Jose did a nice job sharing the highlights of our day in Dublin. Even though he was not originally from there he seemed to know a good bit about the city. It was sometimes difficult to hear him as we walked through the sites. (Only reason for a 4). Would recommend Viator for this excursion.

Suburb versus downtiwn - We had requested a downtown central city if sights and we went to a suburb. Guide was a smart wonderful person but we had hoped to see the classic sights as thus was our only afternoon in Dublin.

Underwhelming - Unfortunately our tour guide did not really take us on a tour. We had to ask him to take us places but were not prepared for needing to have an itinerary of our own in advance. We thought he would take us to specific places. So there was some hesitating and stalling. For example, we got to Trinity College and just stood there…tic…toc…so where should we go next, I would ask! We were told that all the books had been taken out of the long room and that was not accurate. When he showed us Dublin castle we asked to go in and it wasn’t a castle it was just a government building, and he wasn’t allowed in so we had to leave and we had paid for his ticket. Not awful but not worth the money!

Not worth the cost. - Nice guide, very sub-par tour. Highly recommend finding something cheaper and/or booking elsewhere. We booked a two hour tour with a private guide for 2 hours ($76 per person) with an emphasis on us loving history but spent the whole tour asking more questions because we kept getting very basic answers. Then after 90 min we were all confused…was that it? And yep, it appeared it was. Tours should bring a city to life and I don’t know Dublin much more than I did at the start of the tour. At a minimum it was a nice way to walk around the city with someone and see a few highlights with a few history dates- but I’d that’s all you’re looking for I say go for a cheaper option. This was really expensive for not much substance. Should have known when we started at the Molly Malone statue and we asked who she was and he said “you know, Molly Malone” that things weren’t going to be super clear. I feel like we wasted our one full day in Dublin.
