- Temple Bar - While this tour focuses on more offbeat traditional pubs, we will pass by Temple Bar – the heart of Dublin’s nightlife. Wander the cobbled streets of the famous Temple Bar area. Your guide will reveal the real local spots (street art, bohemian shops) and hidden gems in this overly touristy area.
- Dublin Castle - We will explore the grounds of Dublin Castle (upper and lower courtyards, Chapel Royal, Dubh Linn Gardens) without entering any interiors, which can only be accessed through an official Dublin Castle tour.
- Christ Church Cathedral - Along with St Patrick’s Cathedral, Christ Church is a stunning example of Dublin’s medieval religious architecture. We’ll be visiting the exterior only.
- Ha’penny Bridge - Snap a picture of your group at Dublin’s most iconic river crossing! Cross the famous Ha’Penny Bridge, one of Dublin’s landmarks. Look up the river towards the Guinness Brewery (you might catch the aroma of hops boiling) or down the river towards the Custom House and the modern Docklands area. Or simply stop to observe the lovers’ locks.
- City Hall - A key location of the 1916 Easter Rising and an example of Dublin’s 18th-century architecture.

Outstanding experience - Our recent trip to Dublin had many wonderful sights and highlights but among the best was our Sights and Pints walking tour on September 21, 2024. Our guide, Austin is a true "gem" of the Emerald Isle. Our afternoon/evening was spent walking the streets of Dublin, seeing, experiencing and feeling the tempo of Ireland at it's best. Austin was an amazing source of humor, history and lore as he guided us through those main and also less traveled sights of Dublin. We talked and walked as though we were friends, enjoyed stops at some wonderful authentic Irish pubs as the time flew by. We were blessed to have had this time to share with Austin and could not be more pleased with this excursion. A remarkable experience!

Great tour! - Our Sights and Pints tour was a great way to start our time in Dublin! Carl was incredibly informative about Dublin and Ireland as a whole. We did the tour in the evening which I really enjoyed because the sites we went to weren't crowded. Of course we couldn't go into any of them but Carl gave a great overview (plus some good tips) which helped us decide the places we wanted to go back to visit the next day. The pub stops were fun and also informative! It really was a great balance of "sights and pints." I would highly recommend this tour, especially with Carl!

Sights and Pints with Carl - Carl gave us an awesome tour of Dublin filled with history and great conversation. I really enjoyed our stops in the pubs and Carl made my first taste of Guinness memorable! He also pointed out some hidden gems I otherwise wouldn’t have known about including the Chester Beatty museum, a great falafel restaurant and a yummy spice box after the tour. Highly recommend this tour and guide.

The perfect tour! - This tour was so much fun!! We learned so much history about Dublin while also visiting some of the oldest pubs for a few pints! John Caffrey was our tour guide and he was awesome! He tailored the tour to our interests (history, pubs/pints, + our fav band U2) :-) and was an absolute wealth of Irish knowledge. John recommended the best places to shop and eat…the seafood chowder at Sheehan’s, the gelato from Cloud Nine and the hot chocolate with whisky at Ladurée! He even taught us several Gaelic phrases! I highly recommend this tour (and John of course). It was a perfect day!

Awesome Tour with Gavan - We just returned from our trip including a Dublin and cannot begin to thank Garvan enough for a wonderful day/tour. I had used their company about 9 years ago, and this tour was even better. Gavan has so much energy, passion, and knowledge that he shared with us throughout the day. I would rate the experience as 6 stars, if I could! In addition, Georgia Tech iced wit cake with a victory the following day!!

Book this Tour! - DON'T MISS A TOUR WITH GARVAN DURING YOUR STAY IN DUBLIN! We had an amazing day with Garvan, it was one of the highlights of our three weeks in Ireland! Garvan is truly a scholar and shared is knowledge and passion for the city and the country with so much passion and enjoyment he kept our 13 year old son engaged and excited to hear more throughout the day. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city but got so much out of sitting down in the pub and learning more from Garvan while enjoying some amazing food and drink! Upon learning we were visiting Donegal he gave us insight and fun suggestions for that area as well. Would HIGHLY recommend a day in Dublin with Garvan! We thank him for helping us make a special memory as a family!

Sights and pints with the family - Eamon was absolutely amazing and knowledgeable about every tiny aspect of our tour! This was most definitely the highlight of our Dublin stop and cannot recommend asking for him to give a tour enough!!

Best tour ever! - Brendan was our fun and wise guide for the tour! What a fantastic experience it was! We couldn’t get enough of all the interesting stories and surprising details about the city. The different maps Brendan brought to the tour created a full and bright visual support to all the memorable spots and historical sights we visited!
