Great day out, excellent itinerary - The guide was fantastic, helpful all day. Great photo stops and views on the way to the river cruise, crew on the boat were good, bar available, lunch was large, schnitzel was larger than the plate. Plenty of time at the stops on the way back. Excellent tour when you only have a few days in Adelaide.

Fab day out! - Superb communication, Jess, our 'host' was first class. Hahndorf was sublime and was only topped by the fab cruise on the Murray river. The cruise staff were efficient and very friendly, the food, we fealt, certainly met our expectations and the price for a bottle of wine, more than reasonable. A stop at various locations on returning were picturesque and incorporated some very welcome toilet stops. All things considered, a superb day out at a very reasonable cost.

Paddleboat disappointing - While the rest of the tour was alright the paddle boat excursion was not. The Captain Proud is shabby and run down. River sights were boring and lunch was tolerable. Pick an alternative Murray River trip

Great tour guide - The beginning of tour was great but I was really disappointed because the boat trip was cancelled due to winds. I was unable to rebook the River Murray tour as didn’t coincide with my days left. The tour operator Ray was excellent with great customer service. CP Tours gave me a total refund of the trip. If the boat was not cancelled I’m sure I would have given a 5 star review

If the cruise is cancelled, cancel there and then. - We were advised the day before that the paddle steamer element of the tour was cancelled because of high winds. We were offered the option of cancelling or continuing with an amended itinerary. We agreed to continue as we were looking forward to a day out and had no other plans. The following day, our driver, Phil, did his best to make something of the day but, instead of a relaxing 3 hour cruise, we spent half the day driving around in the minibus, with no compensation for the missing main element of the day, the cruise. So, if you do book and the cruise is cancelled, cancel the whole thing there and then.

Murray River Cruise disaster - Attention - The Manager, I was part of a trip that booked a Murray River Cruise trip on Sunday 17/11/24 through Viator and was very under-impressed by the whole experience. CP Charters was the charter company for the day. The Murray River Cruise was cancelled due to weather which we know you have no control over. The alternative offered by the driver was "what do you want to do?". As the group consisted of 6 interstate guests, 2 from UK and 2 from New Zealand, there should have been a appropriate alternative plan B in place if the cruise was not happening. The tour of Mt Lofty and the Adelaide Hills was good, however we could not stop at Mt. Lofty for coffee "as it is too busy." (It wasn't!) We sped past the Bridgewater Mill where we were supposed to spend 15 mins with the explanation from the driver "there is an old mill over there that is driven by a water wheel." The driver was hellbent on taking us to a small "Interesting little town Strathalbyn that is full of antique shops". Nobody was interested in antiques! and I question the driver's motive? We then went to the mouth of the Murray River at my suggestion as I was trying to think of something interesting to do. We then traveled to Hahndorf where we had a one star lunch at a two star establishment. Main meals costs were between $20-30 with no offer of dessert. We had had lunch at a much better establishment just down the road a few days earlier and suggested this to the driver but ended up at a very second rate place. The Murray River Cruise was listed as including a two course meal. The driver said he had a $40 limit per person for lunch and nobody spent anywhere near that amount. Who pocketed the shortfall from this meal and the canceled Murray River cruise? I would love to know the answer to this question as we all feel we were ripped off. We were not offered a refund on the Murray River Cruise and It would have been far cheaper to hire an Uber for the day or catch a bus to visit Hahndorf. Most people would have been happy to go to Murray Bridge, see and hear the history of the place. The total cost to your company would have been the booking fee, the drivers wages, 200Kms (approx) of fuel, and second rate meals and yet we were charged top dollar of $189 per person. All in all very disappointing and we would not recommend this trip or your company to anyone. I know the overseas guests share our feelings as they expressed the same sentiments privately to us during the trip. Happy to discuss or accept a refund. Bruce Buxton 0418 384 032
