Bridgewater Mill - Bridgewater Mill and Waterwheel. Set in the charming town of Bridgewater in the rambling scenery of the Adelaide Hills, this old mill dates back to 1860 when it was built by John Dunn, a mill engineer from Devonshire. He built a number of flour mills throughout Australia, but the Bridgewater Mill is by far his most famous.
Situated on Mount Barker Road, the mill boasts an impressive working waterwheel which was built back in the mid 1800s. Dunn chose this particular spot for the mill because it was a prime hotspot for catching traffic that passed through the area.
In 1986, the mill was bought by a consortium that renovated it and integrated an award-winning winery into the building: Petaluma wines. Very pleasant day - Very nice day.
Our guide/driver, Alan, was charming, witty, and very informative. I wish him a happy retirement, and am certain he'll be sorely missed.
Mt Lofty had spectacular views!
The luncheon cruise was very relaxing.
The weather was not conducive to spending a lot of time on deck, but we all enjoyed our meals and spent time getting to know each other.
Service was excellent on board.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day.

A Relaxing Day at Adelaide Hills and Murray River - Was a wonderful and very relaxing day. Our driver and guide Phil was an excellent tour guide and has filled us with information and history of the city and other sites. Because it was very foggy on that day we were not able to go to Mt Lofty but continued our way to Beerenberg Family Farm where we had the opportunity to browse and purchased locally made products.
Lunch on the paddle wheeler Captain Proud was amazing.
Overall, it was a great experience.

Enjoyable, relaxing, interesting day - This was a lovely, relaxing, informative,trip.
The staff were all lovely and friendly.
The lunch was amazing, with something for everyone, on the menu.
The drive up and back was really interesting and professionally performed by Phil who was a great guide.
Definitely recommend this trip and company.

Entertaining and informative - We had a great time on our tour. Or driver, Roy, was great! He was informative, entertaining (despite the Dad jokes... Or is it because of), and we never had a dull moment. The river cruise as part of our tour was also great, and the lunch onboard was super tasty. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

THIS TOUR WILL NOT DISSAPOINT ANYONE - THE WHOLE DAY STARTED WITH A PICK UP AT HOTEL, BY A VERY INFORMANT GUIDE BY THE NAME OF YVONNE, WE LEARNED SO MUCH ON THE HOUR DRIVE AND WERE ENTERTAINED THE WHOLE WAY. GOT TO THE BOAT AND MET REX, THE TOUR OPERATOR, A FORMER PARKS AND WILDLIFE RANGER IN THE AREA FOR OVER 40 YEARS. AFTER A SAFETY TALK WE WERE ON THE RIVER AND IT WAS NOT LONG BEFORE WE ENCOUNTERED OUR FIRST CROCODILE. THE FURTHER UP THE RIVER WE WENT, THE MORE CROCODILES WE ENCOUNTERED AND THE SIGHT OF THESE
BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS HALFWAY OUT OF THE WATER WAS AMAZING. THE BOAT ITSELF WAS FULLY PROTECTIVE WITH A STURDY MESH AND IN NO WAY WE OR ANYONE ELSE FELT THREATENED. THE TOUR SEEMED TO BE LONGER THAN FIRST THOUGHT, BUT IN ALL IN ALL WAS VERY CLOSE TO 2 HOURS, AND AFTER LANDING BACK AT THE WHARF, WE WERE SHUTTLED BACK TO OUR HOTEL. WE HAVE DECIDED WE WILL BE BACK AND DEFINITELY GO BACK WITH THIS TOUR. THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY FOR ANYONE.

Paddle Wheeler experience - Knowledgeable tourist guide, Alan shared the history and stories of the places in between and of our destinations with his special sense of humour! The cruise on the Paddle Wheeler Captain Proud along the Murray River was relaxing with picturesque views of wetlands, bird life and the different river shoreline outlooks from rock formations to residential developments was supported by the boat’s captains commentary! While lunch was ordinary it still satisfied my hunger! The only view of the boat’s paddles in operation was from the ladies toilets, naturally when know one was in there!

Relaxing day out! - After being picked up at our hotel, and welcomed by our tour guide Alan, we were given a city history on the way to Mt. Lofty Summit. Panoramic views of Adelaide from the Summit! Then onto Murray Bridge for a river cruise on the paddle wheeler, Captain Proud! The best view of the paddles in action was from the ladies toilet, naturally when no ladies were in there! A relaxing cruise and lunch, while the food was average, it was still an enjoyable cruise! The captain gave us a good commentary of the Murray River area we were in, from the history from Murray Bridge and the bird life. The wharf we departed from was heritage listed, and this may be the reason we weren’t allowed to stay on and take any photos! Then we went to Bridgewater for a 15 minute break, and then onto the historic and heritage listed German village of Hahndorf for a 45 minute break! Would have liked an hour, after walking both sides of the village’s main road and looking at all the shops, another 15 minutes would have provided more time to experience a Hahndorf beer! All in all a most enjoyable and informative trip!

Amazing time in the Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf - Robert was our guide and he was amazing. He took us to Mt Lofty, Bridgewater, Beerenberg & Hahndorf which were all fantastic. The only thing disappointing was the cruise on the Murray which Robert was not a part of. The lunch was nice, but the cruise quite boring with little to no commentary from the Captain. Maybe consider an alternative cruise or replace the cruise with something else. Thanks
