Eye opening visit to Cordoba cathedral snd mosque. - You really get to know and appreciate and city with an official guide. Our English speaking guide Saray was excellent. She’s local and knows her city well. Had a tour of the UNESCO heritage Cordoba Mosque Cathedral. Stunning. Then went across city to Jewish quarter and visited a tiny synagogue. We had earphones and were able to pick up her commentary as we wandered. Along the way, she pointed out a bust of a gentleman Mohammed Al Gafequi who was credited with the first ever cataract surgery almost 800 years ago. Yikes. It was a Sunday and Cordoba celebrated its feast day. We went back to cathedral for 12 noon mass celebrated by the Bishop. The atmosphere was tremendous and the sounds of the choir gave you goosebumps. Truly wonderful day. Booked in advance and were kept informed for the days ahead.

Very interesting. It's worth it - Very interesting visit, I learned a lot about the 3 dominant cultures in the Iberian peninsula: Muslim, Jewish and Christian. The Guide Álvaro Salamanca was super accessible and well disposed and knows a lot about what he says. I would repeat the experience on a next visit. I'm just sorry that there are no visits in Portuguese, but with a little extra concentration, you can understand Castilian quite well. I highly recommend this tour, very worth it.

A 10 Family Experience - We had a great time. The little ones (11 and 9) enjoyed it a lot and heard about the visit. Also, John Michael is a crack at anecdotes about the Mosque and Jewry. The group was great: Portuguese, Americans, Latinos and Spanish. We'll repeat for sure!

Catastrophic - They did not wait for us and the person in charge was in front but refused to give us our tickets because they did not see us waiting. The Guide was gone but the person in charge was there and he wouldn't do anything for us and was very unpleasant. Result as we had paid in advance, we lost the visit.
