Less famous site, well worth a visit - The guide was very knowledgeable. She was also well organized and personable. We opted to have transportation included which was a good decision

Fascinating Site - Booking this as an excursion made the trip easy instead of negotiating the traffic. Our guide was excellent and very informative about the history of the die and the Umayyad Califate. Learned much more than just visiting the site ourselves

Very beautiful view - Two possibilities, one with guide (reservation required) but Spanish or English guide. Otherwise you can reach the site directly by car (parking at the entrance). We took the guide option, meeting in front of the museum, making contact with the guide who takes you to the cinema to watch a screening of around 30 minutes (very interesting). The room is full because all the groups are attending, hence the imperative need to book! At the end, a bus takes you to the site (5 minutes) and the guided tour begins. Fortunately we had seen the computer-generated images in the theater, because in fact it is essentially ruins. Some remains are interesting, but nothing more for us. No access to the throne room which is undoubtedly the most beautiful. In short, you really have to like old stones to fully appreciate them, not to mention that after a while all the groups join together, so it's not easy to listen and move around. Allow an hour and a half visit, two drinking water fountains are on the circuit, enough to quench your thirst. Better to wear sneakers than high heels!

Arrangements, bus and initial video was okay but the guide couldn't speak good enough English. - The guided tour was supposed to be in English - very difficult to understand. She obviously knew her stuff but trying to tell us about it in English was difficult for her. Kept asking us for suggestions for words.

I disliked the unnecessary homophobic insinuations about a historical figure. - I had high expectations about this visit, I wanted to see the site. The guide was very nice, he had learned the script well but I didn't like at all the jokes and insinuations he made, of a homophobic type, about one of the most cultured caliphs that Al-Andalus has ever had. To make a guided tour enjoyable, it is not necessary to denigrate a historical figure.
