The Heart of Al-Andalus - My wife and I spent 14 days in Andalucia, and the Mezquita was the most awe-inspiring site we experienced. Don't get me wrong, the Alhambra is grand and expansive, but it is overrun with tourists. The Mezquita, in contrast, is massive in its own right, has incredibly history, and when you enter with an expert guide, like the incredible Javier, you are taken on a journey through the centuries to learn how the Muslim rulers of Al-Andalus constructed this huge and decorative mosque to cement their legitimacy as the true caliphate. There are so many details within the Mezquita (the columns, color patterns, the mihrab, the floors) that you would never know, notice, or understand without a guide, and that is why a tour like this is essential! The Mezquita is truly a wonder to behold! After the Mezquita, we went to the Alcazar, which for us was sadly closed for renovations, but we enjoyed the gardens. Later, we journeyed through the Jewish Quarter to learn the history of the Jewish community in Córdoba, and we stopped at the famous synagogue, which truly captures their struggle over the years. It was an amazing experience overall, and we'd highly recommend!

Great tour for a day trip to Cordoba - Alberto was an excellent guide. He was full of information about the Alcazar, Mezquita, and Synagogue and went at a manageable pace so we could absorb it all. He also had great local notes since he is from Córdoba. It was worth it to get the private tour to be able to hear and ask questions.
